| Jakes now 65 pounds, but see how its all muscle! | Sunday, June 25, 2006 I cleaned Jake's ears yesterday. He didn't like it, but was very good and lied there for me to clean them. Samson and his parents came by to visit today. |

| Keely was very excited too as she remembers Dr. and Mrs. Ravis and wanted petting from them. All Samson wanted to do was to stare at Anastasia. He had some trouble finding her at first though, but he found the cat on the cat tree with his dads help. | ||||||||||||

| Monday, June 24, 2006 Thanks so much for the news on Jake. We miss him a lot. Kate's Dad and Step-Mom have a wonderful border collie/black lab mix who is about 8 years old. They live on 32 acres of wooded land and Clara is taking me for walks each day (as long as I am willing to play fetch to get her expert guide services). The weather here has been very wet and cool (a nice break from Alabama weather) and we are enjoying our time with family. Jake never likes having his ears cleaned. Tolerates is the word I use to describe his reaction. He is just such a sweet, good guy that he'll about let me do anything. It seems that the liquid in his ears just makes him shudder a bit. I also brushed Jakes teeth everyday during his visit. Here he is chewing on Keelys antler chew. |

| Thursday, June 29, 2006 I made some dog cookies for Lexi, Jake, Keely, and Millies Freckles for Fourth of July. The cookies are Springer-shaped, and for each dog, I made one covered with red icing, one with blue and one with white. The fourth cookie has the dogs name on it. |

| Friday, June 30, 2006 Jake's doing fine, but I know he misses his family too. I walk him for two miles with Keely on campus and play fetch with him at the tennis court for five minutes each day, but I'm sure he would prefer his neighborhood and beautiful backyard. He and Keely are doing great together; actually for the last couple days, I've been able to still feed Keely in the kitchen and have Jake eat right in front of the entrance of the kitchen at the same time, and Keely has no problem with that (growled the first day, but last two days she was okay). Also he got Keely to play fetch a little bit, and I think he got her excited enough, that "she" actually wanted to play with him, but he just wanted to play fetch at the time. John and Kate are right, I think he would play fetch for 24 hours straight if he could. Jake's such a sweet boy, both to humans and to other dogs, and he hasn't bothered Anastasia at all. I'm sure he's looking forward to see his parents tonight. I'll miss him though. John and Kate got to my apartment around 6 PM. They brought some fresh catnip from their garden for Anastasia as well. They said they had a great time in Rhode Island, all of Kates siblings came to visit. They even went to Mystic, CT for sightseeing. But they missed Jake and their cats. When John went to their car to load up Jakes stuff, Jake wanted to follow his dad also. |
