| Molly said they went back to the vets to have Dudleys hips and legs rechecked. And its good news. She said that the vet told her that the x-ray shows that theres no old injury or arthritis, but he does have very minor hip dysplasia. But he said its nothing to worry about, and Dudley might never have any problem with it. And Molly got a doggie Frisbee for Dudley to teach him fetch. She said hes getting really good at it, and that hes really good about Drop it after he fetches it back (unlike Penelope or Shep the Golden Retriever). And he seems to have fun doing it because he always gets so excited when he gets to fetch, that one time he even ran a whole circle around the house before he fetched. | ||||||||||||||
| Wednesday, June 16, 2004 A picture of Dudley and Hayden in his new pajamas. Molly said that they are still working with Dudley and Milo the cat, to get Dudley to stop chasing Milo and for Milo to calm down around Dudley. I wish I could give Milo a hug and tell him that cats have claws and are smarter than most dogs. |

| Molly said Dudley loves to play fetching the Frisbee, especially when Sheps around. She said that Dudley would hold onto the Frisbee and let Shep chase him around for it. I think in this picture, Dudley almost looks like a different dog than when he first came to me. Now he doesnt seem like hes underweight, and looks like a normal, well cared for, well groomed Springer. | ||||||||||||||
| June 27, 2004 Molly sent a picture of Dudley swimming at her parents pool, with Hayden and Shep. Molly also said that Dudleys doing great, and that hes eating well, seems to be happy, and they love him very much. I think he looks like hes smiling in this picture. |

| Molly said that it just seems that Dudley has always been in the family. And I feel like that too. I cant believe its only been a month since he was adopted, and its amazing how only one month and lots of love can do for a rescued dog. Molly said that Hayden (in the picture) would hug and rest his head on Dudley and say Love when hes doing that and giving love to Dudley. | ||||||||||||||
| Molly also sent me several videos of Dudley playing with Shep. She said that Dudley walks fine now. And in the videos, Dudley was running pretty fast, actually faster than Shep most of the time, and jumping across hedges, so he really doesnt seem to have any symptoms from hip dysplasia. | ||||||||||||||

| Friday, July 16, 2004 Molly sent a picture of Dudley getting a bath. She said hes so good when he gets bathed; he just stood there and let them put shampoo and water all over him. Sounds like hes continuing the good bathing behavior like he was here in Auburn. |
This picture is from their Fourth of July picnic by the lake. Molly said that Dudley had learned to swim on his own now. They found that out when Dudley and Shep the Golden Retriever came back from playing in the backyard and showed up on the back door dripping wet! Molly said later they also saw Dudley getting into the pool by himself. Im so glad that Dudley enjoys the new summer hobby. I was ready to send him the life jacket that Penelope never used. But its better that he has learned how to swim. | |||||||||||||
