Brenna
You will also see a picture of Brenna and the brown horse literally seeing "eye to eye"!
What's funny is Brenna started getting jealous of the horses getting everyone's attention and she ran up to me, sat real pretty, and started acting like a ham and putting both paws in the air like she was giving me "five"! She does look awful cute in that picture though.

Duke is a whopping EIGHTY POUNDS now and not even a year old! He does sometimes hurt Brenna, but not on purpose, just clumbsyness. Like while Brenna is laying there he will walk up to Brenna and litterally just sit on her for fun and she would yelp if he sat in the wrong spot. He thinks he's a miniature poodle!

Day 24, eggs no hatch, it's time to pull them! So I did this morning at
9AM. I happened to be outside with Brenna and noticed the nest was vacant. So I opened the box and saw they were still unhatched now 10 days beyond normal. I figured it's time for mommy and daddy bluebird to get on with their procreating habits and just build another nest. So I ran inside and got a spatula and ran out there and pulled the nest hoping that mommy and daddy didn't see me. Well.... I should know that daddy is ALWAYS watching! No sooner had I got even back to the house when daddy and mommy were going in and out of the box having a hissie fit! BUT I will say that I feel I did the right thing, because now that I actually had the eggs and nest in my hands to study closer, I observed that you could actually see where the eggs were freezer burned in appearance. If you notice in the attached picture that the top parts of all 5 eggs are the pretty and shiny sky blue. But the lower two thirds are a dull "smoggy sky blue". I believe the line delineates where the mommy was sitting on the eggs those nights it got below freezing, with one night dropping to 19, and the exposed egg just simply got freezer burned and the chicks became chicksicles!
By the time I got home from my weekly meeting at around noon mommy and daddy were doing some heavy duty house hunting!
