| Tuesday, November 6, 2007 I would have to be naive to think that moving to Columbia from the big city would end Brenna's being attacked by other dogs. It was a nice year and a half respite from that, but we finally had an encounter last week with the one dog I have never trusted since we moved here, the black german shepherd that belongs to the owners of the black and white horse. Halloween evening I was walking Morgan back to her house (see attached picture) when the neighbors with the black dog were walking down their hill with black dog in tow. Unprovoked, the black dog FLEW under their fence and jumped Brenna (did it have to be another BLACK dog!?!?). Fortunately I saw him coming and ended that in very short order. They only swapped spit, no biting involved. Once again, the irresponsible owner stood their irresponsibly the whole time and did nothing. I immediately escorted Brenna back to our yard and got her in the fence. In the mean time Michelle had ran inside and grabbed two things, the leash, and my walking stick. As she took Brenna I assumed all was over and thanked God it wasn't any worse. I glanced over my shoulder and quickly saw it wasn't over. The black dog was now in full sprint mode heading straight for Morgan! Once again, irresponsible owner stands there doing nothing. I snatched the stick out of Michelle's hand and probably broke a World Record in the 100 yard dash as I headed that dog off and clubbed it with the stick, finally sending it yelping back to it's own yard. I would love to have thought it was all over then.... but it wasn't. Now that I finally had to do something like getting physical with his dog, he was ready for a shouting match saying over and over how I had no right to hit his poor dog. In the meantime both he and his dog are trespassing on Morgan's property and Morgan's mom is telling him to get off her property. I'll save you the bother of the rest of the conversations, but needless to say I'd gotten more logic through to a tree stump than to this sorry sap! Brenna's fine, except I was worried this really set her dog social skills back with black dogs AGAIN. Good news though, this morning we had a stray rotweiller mix come up to us and Brenna was VERY well behaved and there was no aggression at all. Of course, this stray was not being aggressive, proving that a lot of Brenna's aggression towards other dogs comes as a reaction TO an aggressive dog. Just thought I'd share our little girls triumph over a bad situation. |

| Friday, December 4, 2007 We had a grand family time (in Florida) as usual! And it's a good thing we went, because Michelle and I would have had Thanksgiving dinner alone, as would her parents if we wouldn't have gone. We did get to eat with my kids before we left, also attached. |

| Also attached is a picture I took of Comet Holmes just with my regular digital camera and a zoom lens. Don't know if you have heard about this in the news, but this comet broke apart a few weeks ago and suddenly flared to naked eye brightness in the East-Northeast a few hours after sunset. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 Brenna's doing great and daily is trying to learn how to socialize with Precious the cat. Precious still comes over every day, usually several times a day. Yesterday she actually walked with the three of us when we strolled around the neighborhood! |

| Brenna has now taken up a formal, organized, sport and method of flushing. Morning doves in particular! She has now discovered the fun that when she darts out the living room sliding glass door to chase as the Morning Doves into the sky that they come back in about 15 minutes, and she can do it all over again! I tried my best to capture this on picture, but you really have to see a video to get the full effect. | ||||||||
