Brenna
Near the end of the visit, Brenna had become a little sleepy and was dosing off by us in the gazebo.  They said she's had a busy two days.  On Sunday, they had a flock of 7 turkeys landed in their yard, and Brenna had loads of fun chasing the birds.  Then on Monday, Brenna was chasing a mouse down the street, but came right back when Scott told her to.  They said Brenna is a cat whisperer, she has made friends with several cats in the neighborhood, even the ones who were said to hate dogs.  They said she's very gentle with them and even cuddled up with a neighbor's kitten.  Also on Monday, Michelle's parents drove from Michigan and stopped by their house on their way to Florida, so Brenna got extra attention from Grandpa and Grandma.  Brenna is pretty attached to Scott, but she has a special bond with Michelle's dad too.  And on Monday night, the neighbor little girl (6 years old I think) came to see Brenna and walked her several times back and forth between different points in the yard, like they were doing a dog show.  Scott showed me Brenna's toe, the one that got broken over the summer.  It looks pretty much normal, I really couldn't tell that it had ever been broken, but Scott said if we look at it very closely, then we could tell that toe nail curves inward a little bit, not straight down like the toe on the other front paw.

Then Scott offered me to take Brenna for a walk around the gas station.  I thought Brenna would freak out if I take her away from her dad, so Michelle walked with me.  Brenna still kept pulling on the leash trying to get back to Scott during the 5-minute walk, but it was really nice walking Brenna again.  Overall a great visit, and I'm already missing Brenna again.

We made it safe and very uneventful and Brenna is having QUITE a time.

So here's the story about yesterday's morning walk. Brenna and I were heading up one of the streets near where we are staying when I spotted a really large bird on the wire near us. Then I spotted a baby squirrel in our [path ahead of us and started wrapping the leash tighter on my wrist because Brenna LOVES to chase squirrels and birds! Funny thin is, I don't really know what she'd do if she ever caught one! I figure she would probably just bite it in the middle to see if it squeaked like her toy squirrel!!! Back to the tale... so as we neared the squirrel, I saw the very large bird swoop down to get the baby squirrel! Mind you, this was all happening only about 20 feet in front of us. The baby squirrel by sheer accident crawled under a bush without even noticing he was prey and prevented the falcon from getting it. So now this very large falcon is hopping on back and forth in front of this bush to try to get his breakfast (you could distinctly hear his very sharp talons scratching on the pavement!), meanwhile we are still walking and getting closer and this bird is completely oblivious to Brenna and I because all it saw was breakfast! Finally the bird looked up at me and we were staring eye to eye! We were only 5 feet from this by now, and I actually for a brief moment was worried that this bird might think Brenna was a better breakfast, lunch and dinner!

But the bird flew off, which then made Brenna keenly aware of the squirrel still under the bush in front of her nose. She tried to go after it, but I kept her going and she was never aware that she was in the sights of a bird, instead of a bird being in her sights!
Also, I wanted to share with you the birthday present you bought Brenna at PetSmart yesterday! Brenna was a big hit at the store (as always) with everyone petting her and commenting on her soft fur (thanks to fish oil), good looks, and great manners and personality! See the attached picture for her new replacement "goosy". She takes it with her everywhere. She absolutely loves this thing and it squeaks so much better than her last one!
She sprung out of bed at 6AM this morning and started honking it all over the bedroom and almost woke up Michelle! She slept with it all night and used it for a pillow at times. THANKS (she says)!!! She had a great time at the party as well and was all smiles after we left.

Brenna's passed out at the moment from all the day's fun.

Brenna made another new friend yesterday on our morning walk. A guy was out seeding his lawn and not paying attention while his boxer dog was paying attention to us and ran up to us. Brenna greeted the dog very friendly and they both just sniffed each others behinds while the owner noticed and ran over and got her. The boxer was a female (named Dixie) and obviously a puppy, as it was exactly the same size in height and length as Brenna. Fortunately it had a very playful disposition, and I believe that had the owner not came over and retrieved the dog, Brenna and Dixie would have soon been chasing each other around!
I was VERY proud of her and let her know the rest of the day how proud we were of her being so good with Dixie!
Things are going very well, and we have extended our stay a few more days. We presently planning on returning home Thursday. Brenna got to walk the Henderson Beach Park Nature Trail yesterday and had a huge smile plastered on her face for hours after that! I plan on spreading her ashes when she dies in that park because she just loves it SOOOOO much!

You would be so proud of our girl! This morning two loose Italian Greyhounds ran up to her in one of the parks we walk in during our morning walk and she played with both of them! The owner was in the park as well, but the dogs were off leash. On of the dogs (named Vidalia, like the onion) had been kenneled for the past 5 years and had zero social skills, the master told me. Vidalia barked and barked at Brenna, and it didn't phase Brenna at all. Vidalia is also black in color. So that was good that she didn't attack Vidalia as she would have in days past! The other one was white and named Sophie (a good Italian name) and was timid, but playful. Brenna ran and pounced around with Sophie, all the while Vidalia ran around the two barking non-stop.
I hope we run into these two again because Brenna really enjoyed it and it was very good for her social skills to have a dog barking at her and she keeping her play mode.
Thought I'd share real quick! Wish I had the camera to get a picture of them together, though!

We got back home Thursday evening from a fantastic time in Florida! As you can see by the sunset pictures taken from the beach at a restaurant called "The Back Porch", the weather was perfect like this nearly every day of the eleven days we were there.
Of course the trip started out great with Brenna's 4th birthday party that you were able to attend! I'm so glad you could meet us for that. And Brenna's new "goosy" toy that you helped buy still remains here absolute favorite as you can see it in nearly every picture with her!
She has found a new favorite spot to hang out at in Michelle's parent's back yard. I took a picture of her at the base of a gardenia bush that  she like to lay under in the shade, and of late she likes to crawl just under it and lay there and just sniff the constant breeze and watch the morning doves accumulate under the bird feeder next to her where she then pounces and flushes the birds out! She does this about a half a dozen times a day, the bird dog in her.
