| The couple who adopted Natalie's niece, Tiptoe, gave some cat toys to Taimie, and she gave them to me for Natalie. One of the toys was this scratching toy in the size of a giant rat. Natalie would not play with it, but Oscar and Anastasia like to rub their faces on the sisal and bat the rattle tail. | ||||||||||

| After the initial burst of curiosity, Anastasia went into the pirate ship less. I could not understand why at first, because the other two cats aren't fighting with her for the ship. While I was vacuuming the cat hair out of it, I felt the bottom of the ship was made of ripstop nylon, like the rest of the ship, and the frame is made of PVC tubing (very lightweight ship). There is no padding and it is not very soft, plus, there is a PVC pipe right across the middle on the bottom, so it is not very comfortable to sleep on there I am sure. So I put the mat that Janet gave the cats, and now Anastasia loves sleeping in there again. | ||||||||||

| Virginia won a cat toy from a cat products blog! It is a "cat pillow" made from real fur (probably mink? Recycled fur from fur coats only, not harvested directly from animals) and stuffed with catnip. | ||||||||||
| I got two new large dog bed covers from ebay. Monday, April 6, 2009 I just brought Anastasia home from her dental. We got there at 9 AM and they took her into the back for bloodwork, while I worked on my laptop in one of their rooms. Around 10 AM, Dr. Schwartz came in to talk about the blood work results, and said that they indicate there is some allergic reaction going on (EOS high). He thought it was maybe pollen allergy, so I asked if her EOS was high before, and he said he was thinking about that too. So it was high 6 months ago too. Now we are thinking more along the line of food allergy or dust allergy, that would be present all year long (pollen count here is nothing like Alabama; I would taking Benadryl everyday right now if I were in Auburn). So he started working on her teeth. He did invite me to go into the surgery room to watch, but I said I would just stay in the room, and peeked from time to time from the window. They were all finished in about 30 minutes and he brought her to me, and she was coming out of anesthesia. I held her for about 30 minutes and the staff came to check on us every 5 minutes or so. When Anastasia was able to stand up without falling over, Dr. Schwartz said I could take her home if I want, so I did. He found some cavity on her teeth, and he recommended a dental specialist take a look. I told him that most stomatitis pet owners would say no need to save the teeth, just pull them out when it is time, and he agreed. He gave me over $100 discount and the whole thing ended up being $355. |

| I bought a 3-pack catnip toys on clearance sale. Natalie was at the adoption show, so I took out two, one for Oscar, and one for Anastasia. Anastasia sniffed her toy, but then walked over to Oscar and got Oscar's toy! | ||||||||||
