Taimie gave Oscar and Anastasia a cat toy that her cats would not play with. It's from Target and the bird "chirps" when it's swiped at. |

Tonight Kellie and her husband, Denis, and their Miniature Poodle, Dizzy, and their foster Bichon, Jake, stopped by for a 30-minute visit. Natalie was sleeping in the enclosed wicker bed in her crate before they arrived (I left the crate door open), Anastasia was sitting on top of the cable box, and Oscar was on the big dog bed. When the visitor arrived, Dizzy got very excited and barked at the cats. Anastasia stood her ground and stayed on the cable box, but Oscar, who had met Dizzy before, was afraid but too scared to move or run away. Dizzy kept barking at Oscar, just like what happened during their first meeting. Finally Kellie was able to distract Dizzy by having him do tricks and giving him treats. Jake was curious but did not bark at all. |

Janis, my friend from the UCLA pharmacology lab where I volunteered at for a year as an undergrad, gave me a Springer pillow for Christmas. It's a very nice pillow with needlepoint. Janis is originally from the UK and is a dog lover too.

Fall foliage can be seen in southern California too! This photo was taken at Westside Pavilion near UCLA. |

Taimie gave Oscar and Anastasia several Christmas presents, including this fleece donut bed. I think its color matches Anastasia's fur very well. |

I brought out the ice chest in preparation for the Death Valley trip. I happened to place the chest in front of Natalie's cage, and Anastasia used it as pet stairs to jump into the cage. |
