| Saturday, August 19, 2006 Janet and I arrived at Kiesel Park around 7:30 AM. In the middle of July, I started emailing and calling Lee County Humane Society about having a booth there. I was told that Whitney, the person in charge of last years Woofstock, was on maternity leave, so another person is going to call me back. I waited a week and still nobody called me, so I emailed Jack, the shelter director. He sounded very nice and said they would love for us to come again and forwarded my email to Kermit, the person in charge of this years Woofstock. Kermit emailed me back and sounded very nice too, and said he will try to find a site that is close to electrical outlet, so we can bring fans to our booth. When I emailed him again first week of August to get more details of the event, he said that this year, we can sell stuff at our booth, and they are charging $50 vendor fee. We would still not be able to take donations, because they want all donations to go to Lee County Humane Society. Because it was only a week until the event, I didnt prepare anything to sell at our booth, and I asked Janet and Cathryne, and they both said that they dont think well be able to make back the $50, so I asked Kermit if he can waive the $50 if we dont sell anything, and he said thats fine. And he said that our booth is 8 feet away from an electrical outlet, and its half way between the restroom and the pavilion on the left side; sounds like the same spot we had last year. Things I brought to the event are: Tent Table Chair Tablecloth Easel Available for Adoption Folder ESRA brochures Business cards Brochure holder Business card holder Sign holder Posters (ESRA and ESS) Coroplast for holding up the posters Double-sided tape (to tape the poster onto the coroplast) Clear packing tape (to join the coroplasts) Scissors Cooler Ice Water (large jug) Dog water bowls (2) Stake and small ESRA sign ESRA sign to be used as small banner ESRA vinyl banner Shower curtain rings to hang banner Janet brought: Tent Fans (2) Cooler with wire stand Outdoor extension cords (2) Table Chair Bookmarks Bandannas |

| It took Janet and me about 20 minutes to set up each tent (much faster than last year, now we both got instruction manuals and the rods are labeled). We decided to put the tents back to back, because we were only allotted 10 by 10 space along the walkway. Even though the visitors did not see much of the second tent, it was nice for us volunteers at the booth to have, to help block out the sun. And another 20 minutes or so to set up the table and fans. We decided to put the large banner on the side like last year, one reason is to help block the sun, another is that they are most visible when people walk down the path. Gary, an ESRA member in California, made the banner for us; what a nice guy! | ||||||||||||

| Peter was great as the Springer Rescue booths mascot, because hes so friendly with everybody. Both Janet and Cathryne think hes a wonderful dog too. Im so glad Mary was able to bring Peter to Woofstock. |

Peter is such a well-behaved dog. Mary said that when she drove into the parking lot and Peter saw lots of dogs in the park, he gave a low growl. And in the parking lot, a large dog approached them and Peter gave another low growl, but nothing more than that, no barking, no lunging, and they were fine when they were sniffing nose to nose. |
