Summary of Gastrointestinal Tract:

Joseline and Angela learning about the GI Tract

The digestive system is the site of digestion and absorption of nutrients from the foods we eat. The digestive tract is a continuous tube that starts with the oral cavity and ends with the anus. The digestive system cannot fully complete the task of digestion and absorption without proper functioning of the accessories which are the teeth, tongue, salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. The upper GI refers to mouth through stomach and the lower GI refers to intestines to the anus.

This website aims to prepare students entering the Model Science - Gastrointestinal (GI) Physiology competition. It is our goal to provide as many ideas and hints about this competition as possible.
