New fascilities

 

The new pastoral center should provide the necessary space for the different ministries we are preparing for now. It should include

·                a spacious entrance hall with a coffee stand, book stall, and space to stand around – should be useful for exhibitions and open evenings.

·                a meeting hall that grows from 250 to 400 seats – with the use of balcony and may be the entrance hall; baptistery and changing rooms behind the podium / possibly this can be one room that divides up into changing rooms for baptismal services and can otherwise be used by the choir or for prayer before services; a big podium with space for the choir, the band and drama

·                a community hall to seat 150 people around tables; the community hall should open towards an outside terrace.

·                a kitchen to serve out meals

·                3-5 classrooms for up to 30 people

·                3 offices

·                an archive

·                a resource hall

 

In phase 2 we want to build an additional building (hostel).

It should include:

·                a housekeeper’s apartment (three bedrooms);

·                10 rooms with showers for ministry to abused (upstairs),

·                a common community room and bathroom,

·                utility rooms and office space (4 offices)

 

All main facilities of the church should be accessible by wheel chair as well as the downstairs rooms in the hostel – we believe that everybody should have access to God.

The front of the meeting hall should be open towards the river Drava through big windows (north side) – we celebrate the Creator of the universe; the outside of the church is planned to become a resort area for the city.

The building should have the outward look of a sanctuary – should combine usefulness with a traditional expectation of a  “sacred space” (at least in the main meeting room and in the outside appearance). While we want this building to be functional, we believe that it should be beautiful and at first glance considered a church building. It should fit well with the Slawonian environment.

Parking space for 50 cars should be placed on the property.
