The project will focus specifically on the On-Site Assessment and Training of experienced construction industry employees aged 25 and over to NVQ Level 2 or 3 and will also provide an extra 275 assessors. The �9 millon LSC budget will help establish 10 regional networks comprised of local colleges, private training providers, LSCs and CITB OSAT co-ordinators. They are tasked with delivering OSAT quickly and effectively. Having been established by the LSC, the pilot project extends to a handful of trades outside of CITB scope.
The Networks cover every region of England and, by using a partnership approach that involves a wide range of training providers, they will be flexible and prompt in meeting the varied craft assessment and training needs of local employers. Each network will have a single point of contact for companies who require on-site assessment and training to ensure that enquiries are dealt with efficiently.
