Gingersnaps

2C flour                             3/4 C margarine or butter

1/2 t salt                             1 C sugar

1 t cloves                              1 egg

1 t ginger                             1/4 C molasses

1 t cinnamon

3 t baking soda

Cream together butter and sugar.  Add egg and molasses and mix well.  Add dry ingredients and mix well.  Refrigerate dough and then roll into balls.  Roll balls in  sugar.  Bake for 8-10 mins at 350.

This is my mom's recipe and has always been a favorite.  She used to send shoe boxes full of these to my Dad when he was in college.
