Rules/Guidelines governing the grant:

1. QUALIFICATIONS:
   An applicant for the scholarship shall have the following qualifications:
   • Must be abonafide freshman student of the University of the Philippines System;
   • If an entering freshman, must have passed the UPCAT; if already enrolled as a freshman, must have obtained an average of 3.0 or better and must have carried a load of at least 15 units with no grade of 5.00 or untremoved "4.00" or "Inc." in the semester immediately preceding the application;
   • must be enrolled in at least 15 units at the time of the award of the grant;
   • Must be financially needy (parents' annual gross income must not exceed PhP200,000.00; and
   • Must not have been the subject of any disciplinary action worse than a five-day class suspension.

2. BENEFITS:
   School fees as assessed but not to exceed PhP 5,000.00/semester
   Monthly stipend at PhP 1,500.00 x5 months PhP 7,500.00/semester
   Tottal: PhP 12,500.00/semester (PhP 25,000.00/year)

3. TERMS:
   The scholarship is renewable every semester until the recipient finishes his/her course provided he/she satisfies the following conditions:
   • Must have obtained an average of 3.0 or better for a load of at least 15 units with no grade of "5.00". Any grade of '4.00" ir "Incomplete" must be removed or completed on or before the last day for registration of the following semester;
   • If a scholar fails to meet the average requirement or obtains a failing grade in the semester he/she is currently enrolled, the scholarship shall be "ipso facto" terminated. however, an awardee may be reinstated in the semester immediately following the disqualification if he/she meets the requirement stated above during the period he/she was disqualified;
   • Must not have been the subject of any disciplinary action worse than a five-day class suspension; and
   • Must not shift to another course or go on leave of absence without prior approval from the Office of Scholarships and Student Services (UP Diliman).

4. FINANCING:
   The donor shall remit to the university the amount of Twenty-five thousand pesos (PhP 25,000.00) pers scholar in June or each academic year for the duration of the grant.
5. ADMINISTRATION:
   The Office of Scholarships and Student Services of the University of the Philippines System shall administer the scholarship grant.
   
   Note:Applicants must be from the Second Legislative District of Nueva Ecija.
   Deadline: Submission for application is on September 5, 2003
