GUIDELINES ON STUDENT LOAN BOARD (SLB) A freshman or sophomore student can borrow a maximum limit of 70% of the total fees per semester except student fund: a junior or senior, 80%; a graduate student, 85%. The student must have ready cash payment of the balance of the total tuition fees. Loans should be fully paid (including 6% interest p.a.) at one time or in three (3) installments before the final examination.- Any bonafide UP Manila student STFAP bracket 5 to 9 and with no outstanding account with the Student Loan Board may apply for a loan.
- SLB form should be propersly and completely accomplished. Form 5 should be presented when application is submitted.
- The parents/guardians consent should be secured.
- Co-debtors should be permanent employees of the University of the Philippines Manila Each co-debtor will be allowed to guarantee at most three students.
- The witness of the co-debtor should be the Dean or Head of the unit where the co-debtor is employed.
- The promisory note shall be notarized.
- The chief of the Accounting Office will recommend the approval of the loan based on the perceived capacity to pay of guarantor.
- Final approval remains with the Director of Students of his duly authorized representative.
- When his application is approved, he must present approved form to the cashier's office when he pays his tuition.
- The loan must be paid on or before due date. Non- payment of loan will mean barring the students from registering for the term immediately following registration period.
