    7. dissertation allowance-P6,000.00 for Doctoral

    The scholarship does not cover the cost of transportation.

  3. Field of Study Any degree course offered by the University of the Philippines.
  4. Duration
    1. Undergraduate- Normal length of time required to finish the course.
    2. Graduate:
      • Master's program, 2 � including thesis
      • Doctoral program, four years including dissertation
  5. Rules:
    1. In the selection of the recipients of the scholarship grants, the following criteria shall be used:
      • Previous scholastic performance which will indicate the applicant's ability to carry on academic work in the University of the Philippines. Transcript of academic records and letters of recommendation from at least 3 former teachers must be submitted; Entrance grade requirement is general weighted average of "1.75" for all levels.
      • Applicants must satisfy the entrance and qualifying requirements of the University;
      • For non-English speakers, must have taken the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) preferably in their respective countries;
      • Financial need will be considered but an applicant must submit a certificate from his/her family or sponsor that they/he/she could support him in case he loses the scholarship.
    2. To maintain the scholarship, a recipient must carry the normal load prescribed for the course in which the student is enrolled and must pass all academic subjects with a weighted average of at least "2.00" in the undergraduate and "1.75" in the Master's and Doctoral program. Provided, however, that in the case of a recipient in the Intarmed Program, the student must pass all the academic subjects with a yearly weighted average of at least "2.00" from year level III to VI (1078th BOR Meeting, June 23, 1994)
    3. Scholarship lost due to academic reasons may be recovered provided the student obtains in the semester immediately following the disqualification at least a weighted average of "2.00" (for undergraduate) and "1.75" (for Master's and Doctoral students). In case the scholastic delinquency is not due to academic inadequacy, the University Committee on Scholarships and Financial Assistance, after a thorough evaluation of the case, may allow the scholar to retain the scholarship.
    Reinstatement will be allowed only once. The deadline for submission of the above-mentioned requirements is as follows: April 30: for those applying for the first semester of any academic year; August 15: for those applying for the second semester of academic year.
