FRANCISCO J. NICOLAS SCHOLARSHIP
The President has approved the establishment of five (5) scholarships which are being donated by the Reginald Lewis Foundation and which shall take effect in the second semester, SY 1989-90 (may be effective 1st semester, if possible)
- The scholarships shall be available to five senior students who have the following qualifications:
- must be pursuing any of the following fields of study: History, Anthropology, Linguistics, Sociology, Economics, Nutrition, Demography, Public Health Social Work and Community Development, Rural Medicine (as in the Institute of Health Sciences in Leyte), Fisheries and Agriculture;
- must have a general weighted average of at least "2.0" with no grade of "5.0" or unremoved "4.0" or "Inc." in the immediately preceding semester;
- must belong to STFAP Brackets 1-5; start search with brackets 1-4; lower brackets preferred;
- must not have been the subject to any disciplinary action worse than a five-day class suspension;
- must not be the recipient of any other grant or financial assistance.
- Each grant shall provide the following benefits:
- School fees- as assessed, but not to exceed � P6,000/semester
- Book allowance������������. 1,000/semester
- Lodging allowance����������� 500/month
- Food allowance������������.. 1,200/month
- Transportation allowance��������.. 1,500/sem. depending on scholar's home/
place of residence
- The scholarship is for one semester, only but is renewable for another semester, provided the recipient maintains an average of at least "2.0" and is not disqualified by 1 (d) and (e) above.
- The Scholarship and Financial Assistance Service, of UP Diliman shall administer two (2) of these scholarships; but on (1) scholarship each shall also be administered by the equivalent Student Affairs Office in each of the three (3) constituent universities: UP Manila, UP Los Banos, and UP Visayas.
