ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

A. Graduate Student

  1. Secure materials and application form from the Office of Graduate School, 3/F, Student Center Building, Padre Faura Street, Ermita Manila, Philippines.
  2. Submit duly accomplished form to the same office together with the following documents;

B. Undergraduate Student

Secure materials and application form from the University Registrar, G/F, Bulwagang Joaquin Gonzales (Former NEDA Building), Padre Faura Street, Ermita, Manila, Philippines.

Submit duly accomplished application form to the same office together with the following documents:

An applicant who graduated from a high school abroad may be admitted beginning freshman into a non-quota program without taking the UPCAT; provided, that he/she meets all the above requirements:

For Transfer Student:

A transfer student may be admitted into a non-quota course of the University provided that he/she meets all the followingrequirements:

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR A STUDENT VISA

Upon receipt of letter of admission, the student shall submit the following requirements to the Office of Student Affairs(OSA),UPManila,3/F,Student Center Building , Padre Faura St., Ermita Manila, Philippines, Attention: Coordinator of the International Students Program. These documents shall be handcarried to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) by UP's designated Liaison Officer:

The DFA endorses the documents to the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student's country of origin or legal residence for the issuance of visa. Request of issuance of visa in any other country shall not be honored.

In addition to the documents submitted to the DFA, the student shall submit the following requirements to the Consular Officer at the Philippine Foreign Service Post upon notice of interview:

NOTE: Schedule of filing: First Semester - April 15 , Second Semester - September 15 and Summer - January 15. Other visas may be accepted except tourist visa.

ARRIVAL IN THE PHILIPPINES
  1. Inform the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) of your arrival through telephone nos. 525-41-05 / 523-1641 or telefax 526-2274.
  2. Upon arrival at the Philippine airport, take airport car service from the airport. Proceed to Shalom Center, 1660 Luis Ma. Guerrero St. Malate, Manila, telephone nos. 524-5490; 521-7899; 523-4280 or at Tropicana Apartment Hotel, 1630 Luis Ma. Guerrero St., Malate Manila, telephone nos. 523-8031 to 40. Shalom Center and Tropicana shall serve as temporary accommodations.
  3. Report to the OSA, 3/F, Bulwagang Joaquin Gonzales (Former NEDA Bldg.), Padre Faura St. Ermita for the scheduling of:

NOTE: Student are advised to come (3) three weeks before enrollment period and to bring original documents for verification (e.g. passport, scholarship grant, etc.).

PROCEDURE FOR ENROLLMENT

Step 1. a. For incoming undergraduate freshmen and transferees, secure admission slip from the Registrar's Office.

b. For incoming graduate students, secure admission slip from the Office of the College Secretary (OCS) of your college

Step 2. Secure Study Permit(SP) from OSA.

Step 3. Bring PEP to the UP Health Service at the Philippine General Hospital Ground Floor, Taft Avenue, for medical examination.

Step 4. Present admission slip, together with the SP and PE results to the OCS for enrollment.

Step 5. Submit SP to the Office of the University Registrar for special assessment and students with scholarship grant proceed to OSA .

Step 6. Submit photocopy of Form 5 and accomplished information sheet to OSA.
