RULES TO GOVERN THE AUXILIARY TO THE ASSOCIATION
OF PHILIPPINE PHYSICIAN IN OHIO SCHOLARSHIP
( APPO Scholarship )
The APPO Auxiliary is proud to announce the offering of financial assistance to three (3) deserving students enrolled in any allied health profession degree. The scholarship shall take effect in the Second Semester, Academic Year 2001-2002.
A. Qualifications:
- An applicant for the scholarship must be a bona fide sophomore student of the University of the Philippines Manila enrolled in any of the following: Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology or Dentistry.
- Must be a Filipino Citizen.
- Must be financially deserving.
- Must have carried a load of at least 15 units with a GWA of 2.5, with no grade of "5.0" or unremoved "4.0" or "INC" in the immediate preceding semester.
- Must not have been the subject of any disciplinary action.
B. The Applicant
- Must submit an application letter stating his/her financial need (it is preferred that proof of financial status is presented), with bio-data/resume attached therein.

- Submit the True Copy of Grades for the semester prior to the application.
- Must submit a short essay (250 words or less only) describing his/her community involvement and career goals.
C. Terms
The terms is renewable every year provided the recipient satisfies the following conditions:
- Must have carried the normal load of 15 units and obtained an average of at least "2.5". Any grade of "4.0" or "INC" must be removed on or before the last day for late registration of the immediate preceding semester.
- Must not transfer to another course or go on leave of absence without prior approval from the Office of the Student Affairs.
- Must not have violated any item in the Rules and Regulation on Student Conduct and Discipline.
submit a true copy of his/her grades to the Office of the Student Affairs for the reporting to the donor at the end of each semester.
D. Benefits:
- School fees at P 6,000 / Semester - P 12.000.00
- Monthly stipend at P 1,000 for 10 months - P 10,000.00
- Book and Miscellaneous of allowance of
P 1,000 / semester - P 2,000.00
E. Reinstatement Provision
If the scholar fails to meet the average requirement or obtain a failing grade in the semester he/she is currently enrolled, the scholarship shall be "ipso facto" terminated. However, an awardee may be reinstated in the semester immediately following the disqualification if he/she meets the requirements stipulated in Rule C (1-4).
F. Administration
The Office of the Student Affairs' Scholarships and Financial Assistance Program shall administer the scholarship grant.
