Jerry Zaste and Lesly Andrews were in need of excitement once more and planned a journey via mountain bike from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Inuvik, N.W.T., some 5700 kilometers from home.

They plan on stopping in Fort Simpson on the way to pick up Orville Zaste, Jeannine Gaulin, Cliff and Diane Zaste and whoever else signs up before the group leaves Fort Simpson. Tom and Brenda Lemoine were to join the trip somewhere near Wood Buffalo Park, for a week of the trip.

The trip from Fort Simpson is another 2600 kilometers along the Alaska Highway, into the Yukon and eventually ending in Inuvik, on the edge of the Arctic Ocean.

There will be stops at Liard Hot Springs on the Alaska Highway, this being the place where 2 people were mauled to death by bears.  But that was last year.  Then off to the Yukon, to Dawson City to experience the old gold rush days.  Then up the Dempster Highway to the top of the world.  Hopefully we will all experience seeing the Arctic Ocean.
