             With the fall of of the 38th Emperor, the great clans were poised aganst each other. With the last of the Hantei line slowly dieing, the Crab took the Empier by surprise when they allied with the Shadowlands and invaded much of Rokugan. They passed through the lifeless Scopion lands with ease
and quickly took Beiden Pass. From there they assalted the Crane, while the Lion were taking places to defend Otosan-Uchi. It was at this time that the Scorpion were thought of completly destroyed by most in Rokugan, bu their were some who new better.
              Now the Scorpion could move without being noticed in small numbers to plot their revenge
amungst the other great clans. With Bayushi Shoju dead , and the clan sword broken it was thought that the will of the clan was also broken. But that did not stop the mother of scorpions from commanding the remnets of the clan. Much of the secrets of the empire were lost for every scorpion lost. But this did not hinder the greatest secrets that they kept.
               Orutsu had found himself in Otosan-Uchi under the servece of his lady many times. He was a quick messenger, a value that the clan could not go without in these times of ruin. It was this time that he made freinds with a young Phoenix apprentice. She was Isawa Satsu, and a very beautiful one at that too. On his journys to the north into the Phoenix, and Dragon lands he would often take a detour to visit her. This however never delayed his delivery time, for he was always a day or two early that was expected of him.
               The foul beast of the shadowlands could now be found in many parts of Rokugan main land. Many times messengers were lost to these dishonorable creaturs, but Orutsu had learded to avoid these things. This is one of those times that he ran into an Iuchi Oshi on the road and the Iuchi found him very familuar but could not place him in his memories. This same Iuchi is the one who would futher discover Orutsu haretege. But that would not happen for some time to come.
               With the Crab destroying the Crane lands, and the Lion attacking the Crane, it was unsure how long they could keep defending on two fronts. A great plauge took Rokugan at this time as well and violated much of Rokugan. The people cried out for help while that clans through themselve at each other.
                A great meeting in Dragon lands would change the fate of the Emerald Empire before it was to late to turn back. An army of Dragon, Phoenix, Crane, Unicorn, and Ronin would stop the Crab advances, and counter the crab back out of Beiden Pass. This army was lead by a fallen man, the man who finally drove a spear into the scorpion ranks at Otosan-Uchi during the coup. He was Toturi. Under his command the allied army pushed back the crab, but it was too late the damage had been done.
              The Crab lead one final attack in a atempt to take Otosan-Uchi. They slaughtered the lions that defend the great city with ease. But it would be the body of the young emperor who was possed by Fu-Leng that would kill the Great bear ,and ultamatly ended the Crabs desire for Otosan-Uchi. Hida Yakamo the son of the great bear found the cost of their alliance with the shadowlands and quickly broke it in an attempt to save his clan.
              With the sad knowlege that the shadowlands were on the move to destroy the empire, the great clans finally came back together under the advice of a man named Shinsei.. This was a day that the Scorpion emurged from their hidding to fight along side with the other great clans. The Day of Thunder was here and so were all seven great clans. Brother fought brother on this day. Orutsu who had been one of the messengers to help bring the Scorpion army to fight alongside the other great clans was there as well. He fought with the calvary of the Unicorn who road over Yogo Junzo's armys like grass.
                This is when the Unicorn started to question his riding abilities, and compairing them to a man they once knew. But the battle was more important that day. And on this day the great clans and the seven thunders were victoriouse. But it was a victory at to great of cost for many of the clans. Even the minor clans who allied under the Mantis had heavy losses. But every loss was a sad victory for the survivors of that day.
                 Orutsu had been wounded that day, a small wound he called it but it was not small. He was taken to the nearest Shugenja who was a Crane. He did not know it at the time but he would kill this man, and the day he would do this would be the day he would loose his place within his clan.
                  After the day had been finished Toturi would be Emperor, and he would rule for a year, befor another darkness revealed itself a takes Rokugans Emperor.
                 On that day the Scorpion would be placed back into their rightful position once again, and so was Orutsu. But Orutsu was still not a reconized samurai at the time, he was placed back into Bayushi Yojiro's service as his yojimbo. As much as Orutsu tried he could not leave Otosan-Uchi, unless Yojiro left. But once again being Yojiro's yojimbo would save his life. For when the day came for the shadows to abduct Toturi the Scorpion were blamed and banished to the desert. To the lands of the burning sun.
                With Yojiro, Orutsu was permited to stay as his yojimbo. Many dark things happend to Rokugan , another clan war broke out. This one was not as bad as the last, the clans knew self control.
While in the desert the Scorpion were almost destroyed once more.
                 The shadows were many but Orutsu never gave in to them, he found himself defending Yojiro many times. And many times he did, and the shadow would fail. At this same time the Iuchi that had ran into him was digging deep into his clan history to find a simmularity that Orutsu shaired with his clan. The Unicorn kept records of all who studied them, and he could not find such a man as Orutsu amongst them.
                 It had been a long time since the young Phoenix apprentice saw Orutsu, she often wondered if he died during the day of thunder or if he died in the burning sands. But she could not know because she was not their. No now she stands on duty with her clan fighting off the Mantis who wish to destroy the Phoenix. She prayed to the fortunes that she would see him again one day.
                The day came when the Scorpion would return, after Totori had been found, But the shadow had not been destroyed. Bayushi Aramoro was left by his lady to ensure that their land would not be taken by others and he did. The Scorpion returned and retook their lands and place withen the empire.
Soon they would lead the other clans against the Shadow.
