The National Herald Reporting

The National Herald - August 26, 2000

THE 'HUGE' HERITAGE!

The Archdiocese this week issued a response to John Catsimatidis' remarks about the Church finances during an interview with The National herald. The response writes to the vice-chairman of the executive committee of the Archdiocesan Council that he has his numbers wrong and thus he makes "misstatements." The real numbers prove beyond any reasonable doubt that the financial heritage the former Archbishop of America Spyridon left behind a year ago was a debt of "at least $5.4 million dollars."

Catsimatidis, a prominent businessman, articulate, and generally a man of good faith has apparently been mislead.

GUESS WHO IS COMING TO TOWN

Patriarch Bartholomaios is coming to America in November. He will spend only one day in the great city of New York to inaugurate the Greek Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and two days in the Diocese of Detroit.

This reporter has learned that His All Holiness is coming primarily to build up his image again in America because as we all know it was "tarnished" by his unfortunate choice of Spyridon to the prominent position of the Archbishop of America. Some even suspect that Bartholomaios will find the courage to ask for forgiveness publicly from this Church.
