Background: Lawrence Dorn was born in the Welsh town of Newcastle Emlyn. His father was a police officer throughout his childhood and kept the family under fairly strict rules. Due to this situation, Lawrence tended to be somewhat riotous and a troublemaker. While he never outright turned to crime, he toed the line quite often.

His father, Olsen, tried to raise him right, but the rebel in Lawrence stayed too strong. At the age of 16, Lawrence left his hometown of Newcastle Emlyn and moved out on his own. He traveled throughout England, experiencing a great deal of things. He tended to hang out with the rougher crowd, and on a dare, he joined the military.

Once into the military, he quickly learned that his attitude would get him nowhere but into trouble. It was truly an eye-opening experience. The time spent in training, and his first couple years of service, as an infantryman, changed his outlook for his father and for people that broke the law. He found a newfound respect for the military and its authority.

On one of his leaves, he journeyed back home and found that his parents had moved to the town of Swansea. He tracked them down and found his father still in the employ of the law enforcement. While he was visiting on leave, a terrible accident happened to his father, he was shot on duty. Olsen Dorn died two days later.

Lawrence vowed to fight against all types of criminals, turning his anger towards those that he used to hang around with. He achieved a seething anger against those that tried to bully others or those that used "pack mentality" against others. When Lawrence left his mother, he decided that he'd stay in the military and help support his mother from his earnings. A couple of years later, Dorn had achieved a higher rank, and with his desire to become better, he joined the Special Air Service. Once again, a new change came over him. His attitude converted the anger in him to a focused power.

Now Dorn turned into a team person, working well with his fellow SAS members. He did so well that he was promoted over the years into a team leader. When the war started, his team was used extensively in initial landings in Europe and Norway. As combat turned nasty, and the nuclear weapons started to fly, his team was used for dangerous hit and run missions deep in enemy territory.

Two and a half years into the war, Dorn learned that the city of Swansea had been hit by a nuclear weapon, killing everyone. Dorn had only a brief time to mourn the loss of his mother, before he was out on another mission. The war didn't offer time to dwell on the loss of others.

The last few missions that Dorn and his team performed took a toll on his mentality. In his second to last mission, against a key Soviet depot, his team came under attack from Spetsnaz forces. The SAS managed to evade capture, and inflicted severe losses on the Spetsnaz, but they took losses themselves. Working at only half power, only 8 individuals, his team was dispatched to capture a key GRU officer that possessed important knowledge about the upcoming Soviet/Polish offensive in the summer of 2000. It was a high risk operation, as the officer was protected by a substantial amount of troops.

The SAS team, with Dorn in charge parachuted into the area and managed to make it all the way to the building the contained the officer. However the information was a plant, a trap. A unit of unknown special forces, sporting German weapons and equipment, ambushed his team, killing (as far as Dorn knows) all other members of his team. Dorn was captured and brought in for interrogation by the GRU, and the KGB, to ascertain the extent of ability that the British special forces still maintained. The torture was severe, but they kept him alive, as he yielded enough information to make them feel they were "whittling him down" yet not enough to effectively help them against his fellow countrymen.

They gave Dorn time to mend from his interrogation and shipped him off to a high security camp, known as a political relocation camp, located in Poland. His stay was to be limited, only 2-3 months before they brought in sufficient "specialists" to help gather more information from him, but due to fortunate circumstances, his stay was shorter than even the GRU expected.

Now Dorn is working with a ragtag group of soldiers, their goal to make it to safetyhis to find clues to the German forces that ambushed his team and to link up with some British special forces units in order to relay the information he has. His current situation is one of necessity, less for him, but he's finding that the longer he spends with the motley collection of soldiers, the more he comes to consider them "teammates".
