| Mouse Types: |
| Standard: A normal Fancy mouse you find at petstores or with breeders. Their tail is long, their body is sleek and their fur is straight. Long-haired- This type of mouse is exactly what it sounds like, a mouse with longer hair than usual, sometimes having two different lengths of hair. SATIN- a type of mouse whose individual hairs are shaped more rectangularly than cylinderly thus making them look very shiny and translucent. These mice sometimes have problems with infantile cannabolism, however I think this is due to inbreeding. Wavy Haired- Sometimes called rex or texle these mice have wavy or curly hair when they are young. A good wavy haired mouse will retain their wavy hair into adult hood however most mice with a rex gene often lose their curly hair as the reach adult hood, thus looking like a normal mouse. Furless- No fur except the whiskers. These guys are still pretty rare in the pet trade and often fetch a price of $15 a peice. Tailess- these mice are genetically bred to have no tails. Spraugue Dewely mice (a type of lab mouse)- These mice look like your common albino but they have been specially bred to have HUGE litters of 20 or more. They to my knowlege haven't yet been introduced to the pet trade as they are mostly used as feeder breeders. |
