Meet Nappy!
(sorry no pictures have survived to this date)
Nappy (Full Name- Neptune) was my nearest dearest rat. He was the first rat I ever owned and was a true inspiration! My entire rattery is dedicated to him and the other precious dears I have lost.

I got him when he was found by the dog officer, abandoned outside in the cold bleak month of Febuary. He was surviving by eating only cat food and bird seed that people had left out. When I first saw him on Mother's day of 1996 I must admit the little chocolate hooded figure in the cage scared me a bit. I had wanted a rat for months but had no idea why, and now that I saw him and I could handle a rat for the first time in my life I didn't know what to expect. I named him Neptune after the planet and this little rat grew and grew until he was around 5 pounds. He ate nothing but fresh, human approved food and was spoiled rotten! I grew to love and cherish this rat and he really changed my life for the better. He traveled on my shoulder where ever I went, had his own leash and would go for daily walks with me in his harness! He was such a sweetie and I will always remember him for the true inspration he was. He died a little before a year I had him.

To this day I can remember him vividly. We'll miss you Nappy!
I dedicate my website and my rattery to this little treasure that came from the snow... And it is in his honor that I have learned so much more about rats! Now all my darlings have rat food and not human food (although they get lots of treats!) and they all have cage mates...
