Guardians protect and then the cowards desert
Gave up on the Quest, turned my back on the Grail
Hoping the higher self turns a blind eye to betrayal

Searching bewildered the maze of an infinite heart
No exit no answer to give as questioning starts
Conscience confused, designing the finest detail
Sainthood denied by a kiss on the cheek of betrayal

I'm clumsy to stumble in this way again
But I'm craving the perfect mistake
All I want and I need is always the same
I'll accept any bribe it takes

Spirit one moment from finding its identity
Called back by dreams, desire and fantasy
Trust is eroded, divided behind the last veil
All promises broken to work on the side of betrayal

Now I no longer can follow my law
A double agent who’s licensed to fail
Not quite prepared for the monastery yet
I follow the vows of betrayal

Serving illusion and memory echoing lies
Slave to a greed I need and doubt I despise
My nature returns forewarned of eternal defeat
