WILDERNESS 93
When I look at you I see one thousand generations
Hear the names of ancestors, the tribe of mans
relations
Feel the sense of heritage, our histories aflame
Reborn into a future age where all will know the Name
And all with equal claim to life and open boundaries
In wilderness begin again in unmarked territories
Between the temples, common ground where peace is not a
threat
The arguments in families your children must forget
Uneducated hatred stems from forbidden fruit
Roots under the trees of death divide and persecute
Returning to the Light again, we rise through our
darkness
The changing and eternal from Garden wilderness
Beyond horizons, many worlds and many worlds in One
Jerusalem or Babylon, their time already gone
In blood and fire and endless war, no place where you
belong?
When only hearts can hold the truth to keep the spirit
strong
Imagine an oasis now, across this wilderness
All's alive and holy - this journey always blessed....
/// I had been thinking a lot about the Holy
Land and what a bloody
mess it was and why. Also looking at a photograph of
Joanna and
going into the face ( a la Harper and Geronimo in the
Seventies)
I had been something of an anti semite in much younger
days.
My first girlfriend was Jewish. One of my best friends
took his religion
seriously without being a prawn about It - as extremists
are and I loved him too.
(Joanne and Joseph, respectively)
Israel was a political necessity and is hardly a paradise
worth the slaughter.
( He wrote, wondering how it would be read by the serious).
What is holy
and spiritual is in the heart and everywhere, not in
relics, man made maps,
borders and books written by those with a vested interest
in their own fan clubs.
ALL sides, creeds etc need to recognise this, then we can
begin again.
Dogma is of the ego. October 2000, typing this out, turn
on radio
Palestine v Israel again. May 2002, re-checking, once
again, war....
Setting for the web site, October 2003 and guess what?
God only helps the holy.///
