St.John's Cemetery
Paducah - Lone Oak - German Section of the Cemetery - This is an old Catholic cemetery located directly across the road from St. John's Catholic Church. There have been many sightings here of unexplained  phenomenon. Such events include, but are not limited to, sightings of a "werewolf" type creature that charges up the hill at you, a female apparition that is not fond of males, and a strange light that seems to hover over one of the graves in the lower portion of the cemetery. Late at night during certain events, even the crickets are silenced.

We arrived at St. John's at around 5:30 pm and parked at the church. John, Cyn, Logan and I crossed Hwy. 1241 to reach the German Section of the cemetery. We looked around and what was odd was there were many graves clustered together at the top of the hill, then in the lower portion of the cemetery, away from everything else, there was a solitary headstone. This headstone is the one that is supposed to have the "hovering light" over it at night. Indeed it does, and I have photographed it.

We walked around the lower portion and wondered aloud about the lack of graves. Cyn and Logan stayed more toward the upper area of the cemetery on the hill as John and I explored the lower, more dank, bug-infested regions. John got into the lower right portion of the grounds next to the woods and stopped to listen. He thought he heard what sounded like people. He asked me to come over and listen, so I did. It felt
VERY odd down there and quite uncomfortable. I did in fact hear the people he heard, but deemed it to be the house on the other side of the woods from there. He agreed and so we started to leave, satisfied and coming back later tonight.

Cyn and Logan started back toward the car as John and I followed behind them. I started to feel very weak and almost nauseous. My forehead started to throb and hurt. I looked at John and said, "I don't feel very good dude." He was then rubbing his head and said, "Me either." "There's something up in that lower portion of the cemetery man. We both feel like crap now after going down there," I said.

We got over feeling crummy after a little while and went to a store a few miles down the road to pass some time until dark. We got back to the cemetery at around 9:00 pm and parked at the church once more. Cyn and Logan stayed at the car this time. I figured it was way too dangerous for them to go over there considering the reported phenomena.

John and I crossed the street once more and climbed the hill into the cemetery. I took pictures of the headstones and lower portion of the cemetery while John went with the flashlight back down to the lower right corner again, which in my opinion wasn't the smartest thing to do...lol...but John was tired and in that "crazy brave" phase he gets into. Nothing chased us out. Nothing came after us. I did however get a pic of the "strange hovering light" over the lower headstone which I have posted. It was VERY scary in there to say the least, but more of an
"Ooooh creepy!" scary than an "Oh we're gonna' die..." scary. I've been in the former and the latter and I can tell you now, THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN.
