Workman's Cemetery Ky-Tn State Line
A girl by the name of Pamela Harris was eight years old when she died, Mr. Workman (no first name given) owned the graveyard, and Pam was a slave (which seems to be a running theme for problemed spirits around here), he was really mean to her, and continues to be mean to her in the afterlife. Pam died before Mr. Workman, and Workman put a curse on this rock slab hidden somewhere out in the forest by the graveyard that none of the people buried in the cemetary would be able to leave (meaning go from the spiritual world to heaven). Pamela wants us to find this stone and break it, therefore realeasing the spirits so they are free to leave and ending Workman's curse.

There is a Lynville, Ky legend of a rock that is always hot to the touch that they call the Devil's Playground. I can't find any concrete proof of a location of this stone and the old-timers around here don't want to talk about it.

This cemetery is one of the most desolate places I've ever driven out to. You have to go down a road that says it's closed before you ever even get close and even then you must drive on a gravel trail through the thick uninhabited woods for over five miles before you get there. I must say, I was highly uncomfortable with the surroundings on the drive out there.

When we got there it was almost like walking into another time. For as far as one could see to the left of the entrance to the cemetery, there was what appeared to be a massive chasm, completely enveloped in ivy and thick forests. It looked like places I've seen while visiting the mountains of East Tennessee, but was WAY out of place here in West Kentucky. There's no wonder no one has found the stone in the forest. Just one quick glance at the daunting task would be enough for most to turn tail and run. I want to find it though...but it may be near impossible.

We only spent a few minutes out at Workman's. We got out of the truck, my son, my brother Nathan and I, and started walking through the small graveyard. As we got to the center of the cemetery, I heard things coming through the woods. I stopped and listened for a second or two, then continued walking and taking pics. Then Nathan heard it and it was getting louder and much closer. We both stood there listening and Logan (my son) was like "What Daddy?"

We decided with Logan with us, it was too dangerous to chance being out there and having to leave in a hurry because of locals with firearms or whatever, so we just went ahead and left before we found out what it was. I'd like to go back out there, but Nathan doesn't want to go. Hopefully Jonalex and I or my brother Rob and I will go sometime again soon.

Jonalex and I went out to Workman's Cemetery yesterday. The drive out was really quite fun and creepy as ever even though it was early in the day. I took alot of pics and we only felt one hot spot.

In the place where Nathan and I had started hearing the stuff coming through the woods at us, John stopped and said, "BJ, take a pic, this spot is so hot right here," then he stepped out of it and stepped into it again and it was still there, so I snapped a few shots. In the second or third pic I got two possible human manifestations coming out of the woods. I went over and stood in the spot and when I did, my right ear lost its hearing. I said something to John about it and he said that yeah, it was always his right ear that was bad. He's deaf in one ear. As I walked out of the spot my hearing started to get a little better and it felt like I had water in my ear. Then it just went away.
