There is this hobbit, Frodo Baggins, who has a real powerful ring. This ring is made by the evil lord Sauron, to destroy Middle Earth. Many years before this story takes place, someone took the ring from Sauron, and defeated him.
Sauron tries everything to get the ring back.
For this reason, elves, men, dwarves and hobbits form a fellowship of nine companions to protect Frodo. The only way to stop Sauron is to destroy the ring, which can only happen in the fire of Mordor. So the fellowship goes to mordor. They start all together, but on their journey, they split up in several groups.
