Gimli son of Gloin represented the Dwarfs in the Fellowship and helped lead the Company through Khazad-dum (Moria) where he was sad to learn of his father's friend's death(Balin, Lord of Moria) Gimli was the first dwarf to enter Dwimordene(Lorien) since Durin's Day. He was a close friend of Legolas Greenleaf the Elf. After the War of the Ring, Gimli led a group of dwarfs from Erebor to Rohan and became the Lord of the Glittering Caves. Gimli forged gates of mithril and steel(with some help!) for the gates of Minas Tirith. After Aragorn's death he sailed over the Sea, the only dwarf ever to do so. |
