Aragorn II was the son of Arathorn II and Gilraen the Fair. He was raised in Rivendell under the name of Estel (hope) until the age of 20 where Elrond revealed to him his lineage (Isildur Elendil's heir). He then met Lady Arwen shortly before he left. They fell in love but did not marry until after the War of the Ring. He wandered in the Wild for many years as a Ranger and came to Bree to take Frodo to Rivendell. When they arrived there, Aragorn was chosen to represent Men in the Fellowship. After Gandalf was thought to be dead when he fell in Moria, Aragorn led the party until they split up at Parth Galen. After the War of the Rings he became King of Arnor and Gondor and married Arwen. His son Eldarion succeeded him.
Aragorn was also known as Strider, Stick-at-naught Strider(by Bill Ferny) Longshanks, Dunaden, Elessar, Elfstone and Wingfoot. |
