ABOUT OUR FAMILY
We purchased our first Siberian in 1989, after years of owning Labrador Retrievers.  Boy, were we in for a change!  No more obedient lab behavior, no more sedate evenings with the dogs calmly sitting by the chair!  We were about to be taken over by a whirlwind named Nikita.  She was the typical backyard Siberian, black and white with blue eyes, and a totally hyper personality!  The first day she was home, we discovered that there was no keeping her home.  After that, the fences began to sprout around our property.  The inevitable time came when a man with a boy Siberian asked if I'd like to breed my girl Siberian.  I felt it would be appropriate to get Nikita evaluated by a breeder to see if she was worth breeding.  This eventually led to my meeting Maureen Gunderson, who welcomed us to visit her kennel in Browns Valley, California.  During that visit, I met Cinnamon Bear and Sparky, who both contributed to my looking at Nikita in a different light.  I went home, having left a deposit on a future breeding, and made the appointment to get Nikita spade.
In July of 1993, Summer was introduced to our household.  She impressed us with her sweet, calm behavior, whick was spiced with a bizarre sense of humor.  Summer wasn't as prone to run away as Nick, and her entire health and demeanor was different.  With Maureen's permission and guidance, we eventually showed Summer in the confirmation ring.  We had little success, largely due to my lack of experience, but it was an addictive hobby!  As we became more interested in the sport of purebred dogs,  Maureen guided me through the process of choosing a stud dog for Summer.  This breeding, with CH Charlyn's Kailian Endeavor, led to a litter of puppies that produced CH Orion's Bstheris at Wht I Do (Logan).  A  repeat breeding produced
BISS CH Charlyn's Seniorita Tia Maria, a multiple group winning bitch. (owned by Dave and Terry Campbell, cobred by B Hutchings, T Campbell and M Gundersen)
