Hiya eveyone, finally updating again. Sorry but I didn't get a chance to change the site layout, so your stuck with the current format for a while. We just played our first gig with our new bass player, George, on Saturday night at the new HQ all ages venue in Leederville. It was a great debut, and a rockin' night. Thanks to all the other bands, and to all the guys that made it down to check us out. We hope you all had a great night! We have another gig coming this Friday night at the Raffles Hotel. Its a great line-up so check out the Gig guide section for more details. Hope to see you all down there. Also, I should be updating the picture section pretty soon with some great pics taken at the Civic Hotel gig. I should also be putting up a bio of our new bass player George as soon as I get a chance. Anyways, thats it for now. Cheers.

Hey dudes, I thought it was about time I updated this place, so here we go again. I hope you all had a great Christmas & New Years.  So the last month or so we've been getting some new material together, and preparing for our current bass player, Paul, and his last gig with us this Saturday. It should be a huge one so get down there help us farewell one of the original band members. He'll be sorely missed. So I hope to see ya's all there and up the front of the stage moshin' away. Also, keep an eye out on this page, it might be up for a total reconstruction in the next month or so. But thats all for now. Cya's on Saturday. Cheers.

Hey everyone, just updating again. Sorry about the lack of updates, and thanks for the reminder from everyone on the message board. I'll "try" and update more frequently.
Some great news. Our E.P recording is pretty much finished, all we need is to do the production side of things. Also, check out www.ultimatemetal.com and check out an interview they did with us a couple of months ago. We're in the unsigned section.
We've got some pretty great gigs coming up in the month of November. On the 18th we're playing at the Enforce 5th B'Day Bash, and on the 30th we're playing at Powerfest 3 with Black Steel, Heavy Weight Champ, Subtruck, and Rift. Should be great nights. Go to the Gigs Page for more details. Hope to see you all there. Anyway, that's it for now. Cyas.

Hey Guys! Just giving you a quick update on whats happening on the Orion front. Well our E.P is also finished. We're just putting the final touches on it and it's sounding pretty sweet so far. We're trying to get a lauch together so keep an eye out for that. Also, sometime soon an interview with us will be posted on a worldwide metal page. So check out the interview at www.ultimatemetal.com(.) Anyways, not much apart from that. If anyone has any gigs feel free to contact us. Also, the Syzygy C.D launch will be happening in a few weeks. Hope to catch everyone at that. Apart from that, keep rockin!

2nd August 2001 -
How ya all doin'? As you can see, its been pretty quiet on the Orion front lately, well the whole Perth metal scene has also been pretty quiet. At the moment, we're in the studio still. Its been pretty slow going, but our E.P's almost completed. Just one more track and some final mixing to playing around with and we'll have our first proper recording, and it's sounding pretty damn cool so far. I'll update more info on that later. Also, we have a couple of gigs coming towards the end of the month, but I'll keep you all updated on that in the future weeks. Keep an eye in the gigs page. Anways, I hope your all dying to see us again, so rock up and check out some new tunes at our next gig. Rock on!

26th June 2001 -
Hiya's everyone. Just updating the Orion front. Sorry about the slackness of my updates, but we're organising moving this page to a better location. But more info on that later.
A couple weeks back now, we played at Syzygy's 5th Birthday Bash at the Amplifier Bar. It was a pretty cool night. We all had heaps of fun playing there, and look forward to being there again sometime soon we hope.  If you weren't down there that Friday, you missed out on quite a show. Also, we just changed I.S.P's so now we have a new email address : [email protected]

This week we're organising to go into the studio and lay down a couple of tracks. Just so that we have a decent recording that we can distribute around the place. That should be good fun. Also next Monday we'll be hosting an hour of Nightbreed on 93.7 Hertiage FM. So we'll be playing some of our favourite tracks from our biggest influences. So DON'T miss it!  It should be a great night. Anyways, hope your all getting out and checking out the bands around town. And remember, keep on supporting the Perth metal scene. So tune in on monday night and cya's around. Rock on!

12th June 2001 -
Howdy all. It's been pretty quiet on the Orion front. We've had a couple of weeks off because some of the guys have been away. But this week it's full steam ahead as we prepare for the big gig this friday at the Amplifier Bar. It should be a great night, and hopefully we'll play some pretty decent stuff for all you guys who make it down there. After this week we're preparing to go into the recording studio for a couple of weeks, and hopefully come out with a pretty decent recording of  a couple of tracks. Just a decent EP recording that can be played around. In other news, I went to the Planet X gig last night and it was awesome. I'm sure the whole crowd was just standing the watching in awe of these great musicians. Virgil Donati was his usual 'out of this world' self and entertained the crowd with an unbelievable solo. Tony MacAlpine's seven string brilliance had everyone in awe. Derek Sherinian was fantastic on keyboard, and Dave La Rue was as solid as a rock on bass keeping the whole thing together with one kick-ass bass solo as well. If you didn't go last night, you definitely missed a chance to see some great players strut their stuff.
Anyways, I hope to see you all down there at the Amplifier Bar this friday night for a great night of metal. Rock on!

19th May 2001 -
Howdy everyone. It's been a while since my last news post. The only real reason is because I'm a slack prick. Anyways, I'll tell you now about most of the stuff thats been happening with us. Wellllll, ages ago we had that Nightbreed radio interview which turned out pretty well we thought. Our demo tracks came through really well on the radio. At the moment, we're trying to organise another radio thing to do. More details on that later.
Last Friday night we played at the Raffles Hotel for the WF 'Big Bastard of a Gig'. We were first on as usual and played alright. People tolds us afterwards that we sounded cool, so it couldn't have been too bad. We felt a little out of place amongst  all the other "Harder" metal bands, but we came across pretty cool which was great.
We played again last night at the Stock road Tavern. There was a nice little gathering there and we had a lot of fun playing. It sounded awesome and we had a ball playing there.
...And finally, we played tonight again at Coakley's Hotel in Freo. We were on first again, and we all agreed it was probably our worse gig ever! Things just didn't go right from the start. There was a decent crowd down there but not much was happening. Oh well! Now were having a 2 week break to sort out new material and have a bit of a rest, but we'll be back and rockin again at the Amplifier Bar in early June. Check out the gigs page for more details, and we hope to see you all down there giving support to the metal scene!!

By the way, a big thanks to everyone who has helped us get going and into the scene. There too many to mention but you all know who you are. A big CHEERS to you all.
Hopefully the next update won't be such a long time away. I'll try and keep on top of things. So cyas for now!

21st April 2001 -
Last night we played at Coakley's Hotel in Freo and it was pretty awesome. We were first on and overall our set was pretty good, no major fuckups. And for once we had a bit of a crowd. Thanks to Chalky for organising the event, to all the bands that played, and especially to all the metalheads out there that rocked up and heard us play.
Also, the night before we played a short set at the Grosvenor. We played pretty well there as well, and it was a good warm up for last night. Thanks to everyone that came along and saw us.
And finally, every tune into Nightbreed Radio 93.7 Heritage FM on Monday night around midnightand hear some of our tracks played, as well as our lead guitar Troy in a special interview. Rock on!

...And come to our next gig!

3rd April 2001 -
The band have been practising new material, and are preparing for a full schedule coming up. Talk of an EP later this year. Also tune into 'NightBreed' Radio 93.7 Heritage FM on the 23rd April. Our lead guitarist, Troy, has an interview slot with some of our material also being displayed on the show from our rough demo. Should be a treat!

20th March 2001 -
It's been pretty quiet on the Orion front. Some new gigs have been organised so now we're gearing up for them. Still writing new material and improving on the old stuff. So, if you want a demo to listen to your favourite Orion tracks, just email us using the link in the left menu.

2nd March 2001 -
Well we played at the Taipan room last night for 'Xposure'. Our slot was pushed back to about 11:30pm and they were running overtime so our set was cut short. Overall we played pretty good and we were able to get away with our new song without too many mistakes. Once again the atmosphere was fairly dull. Where were all you metalheads???

17th February 2001 -
We played the White Sands again last night. It was fairly disapointing for us, the atmosphere was fairly bad and there weren't many people. Also, our overal performance wasn't as good as we were hoping. We were told to turn our volume down again, so in the end we couldn't hear a damn thing! Anyways, thanks to our #1 Fan 'James' for turning up again to see us.

15th February 2001 -
This Web Page was created. After our debut at the White Sands Tavern on the 2nd Feb and our second gig there the following Saturday, we are continuing to write new material as well as become more polished on our exiting material. We are gearing up for another gig at the White Sands tomorrow night. We are also preparing for our debut at the Taipan Room on the 1st March.
