This is one of the monestary's on the Meteora Rocks. They were so high up that you just don't get it from the pictures. |

The monestary in the top of this picture is Varlaam. We were headed up to it as I took this picture. The monestary's were built on the top of the rock mountains and filled the top like it was a perch. |

To the right you can see the walkway up to the Varlaam monestary and in the distance the huge rock mountains that make up Meteora. It was truly amazing. |

This was taken on our way up the stairs to Varlaam and in the distance you can see another one of the monestary's. Many of them are so high they needed a basket to bring the monks up to them. |
