I woke up to the cackling sounds that comes with the breaking of the early morn in Aklan.  Then comes the rustling noise of plastic bags, a sign of excited individuals getting ready for a long drive to Boracay. I didn't want to wake up because all I really wanted to do was sleep. I hadn't had a good snooze since my arrival here.  Can you blame me? Each night is an adventure I didn't want to miss. Oh well, maybe I'll take a nap during the journey.

As we struggled to fit into one van, I managed to squeeze with my mom in the front seat. Imagine 16 people inside a L300 van. Now I know how a sardine feels inside a can. Well, my other cousins didn't seem to mind because all of them were excited. Especially, Jade and Oliver, who can't seem to sit still despite complaints from Gigi and Vanessa. I think the driver got pissed at us from our rowdiness and never ending sing-a-long.

The beautiful thing about Aklan is that if you wake up early enough, you'll see a beautiful sun rise; it's one of those moments  you will never ever forget. Then, along the way, we pass by hundreds and hundreds of acres of rice fields with small Nipa huts that is a part Aklan's  scenery. You can also see mountains after mountains with green lush and farmers greeting the morning sun. What a splendid view from where I was sitting. Nothing compares to this.

Finally, we've reached the docking area for the boat that will take us to the island of Boracay. With a bit of apprehension, I walked on a small "tapi" or wood to get inside the boat. It was a little shaky for my taste. Don't get the wrong idea though, because I'm not afraid of the ocean waves. In fact, I spent almost ten years living near the beach.

Anyway, we've finally reached our destination. I was surprised at first because we had to get off the boat while the water was still about two to three feet deep.  I didn't have a choice so I had to get off. Ooppss, I forgot my lola Inday. I went back to the boat again and volunteered to take  her to the beach. She's a small woman, a little over  4 feet tall and not weighing more than a hundred pounds, so I was able to carry her. I enjoyed carrying her and I think she did too. It was really fun.

I can't believe the white sands. What a sight and pleasure to be walking on the white sands of Boracay! Allright, with all amazement gone, we took off our clothes and started swimming like crazy while the old timers; my mom, lola, aunts, uncles, was chit-chatting , drinking, and eating on the beach. Of course I couldn't resist the banana boat rental, the water ski, and other water related fun craft in Boracay. I had to try it. So, my cousin Cherry and I sneaked off to Willy's resort and rented a banana boat. As we took off, I had the time of my life until we crashed. Help! I'm drowning! I wish...if only I didn't know how to swim.

Hey! What about us?, my cousins yelled. Oh well, that's it for me and Cherry. time to go back with to the in crowd. Ok, we had enough water fun for the day. So, we decided to play volleyball and started racing. Of course, I won the race. I'm the oldest, almost, so I think they decided to pretend like I'm the winner.

Time to go guys! That's it? Can't we stay for another day? Nope, sorry 'cause we have a flight to catch tomorrow. Maybe on our next vacation.
