A Small Step
Herbert George Wells first went to school when he was seven years old. His
first school was a small, old-fashioned, private school in Bromley. The school
had about 30 students in it who were taught by Tomas Morley, a man with no
teaching qualifications. By the time Wells was 13 he was already finished
with elementary schooling but not finished with education. Wells was very
unsatisfied with the education that he received and hungered for more
information. Even at this point in young Wells' life he believed that education
would fix all of the worlds problems, which was his main motivation in getting
an education. |
