Paleontological Society of the Philippines inducts its officers and members
April 8, 1999. In a celebratory event, the Paleontological Society
of the Philippines inducted its first set of officers and members at the
Bahay Kalinaw, in the University of the Philippines, Diliman (Quezon City)
campus. Danilo M. Yanga, Dean of the College of Science, officiated at
the oath-taking of the members and officers. He was introduced by Joselito
P. Duyanan, Directory of the College's National Institute of Geological
Sciences. The officers and members hail from various academic, professional,
and government entities in Metro Manila. Several paleontologist who had
just returned from completing their post-graduate studies abroad were among
the members inducted. The officers of the Society are:
President: Priscilla J. Militante-Matias, UP-NIGS
Vice President: Alyssa M. Peleo-Alampay, UP-NIGS
Secretary: Edanjarlo J. Marquez, UP-NIGS
Assistant Secretary: Raymond Thaddeus C. Ancog, Mines and Geosciences Bureau,
Department of Environment and Natural Resources
Treasurer: Marietta M. De Leon, UP-NIGS
Assistant Treasurer: Amelia De Guzman, Energy Research Division, Department
of Energy
Auditor: Milagros V. Reyes, Petrofields Corp.
The evening was capped with singing performances by Mr. Ancog and Wilmar
Brin, a researcher at the UP-NIGS.
