Official / Unofficial Fighter practice / Demo / Social / and Motorcycle Rally

Site opens Friday around 12 Noon, July 3, 2009

Site closes Sunday by dusk, July 5, 2009

Each year we have the Rügland Motorcycle club host a Rally in our backyard area at the historical Rosenberg Stone Observation tower. There is a usual attendance of several hundred people on and off between Friday evening and Sunday which just screams “DEMO”. However, I am lazy and figured why have people come all this way to only get hot and sweaty.

So we compromised and figured why not make it a weekend or day of SCA by the house and then enjoy the Mundane events that evening.

This is not just exclusively for fighters, but sort of an unofficial / official demo / Fighter practice / Social / What tha heck thing. The Cycle club will have food and drinks for sale, Usually Brats, sausages, hamburgers and such, which  is usually prepared at the onsite BBQ grill and sold by the club.

There is usually live music Saturday night and at least one open fire.  Generally there is a small hard liquier bar set up for shots and mixed drinks. A beer tent also to sell beer, sodas, and such. SO, if you want to camp with the Mundanes, camping is free, most only bring small dome or pup tent designs however due to limited space at the rally site.

We will also have a tent / Larger Pavilion space in our side area for SCAdians. Again however, space is limited so please let me know if you are coming so I can block off tent areas. We will have a small indoor shower for the fighters after a day of whacking and bashing and access to our toilet and running water if you are camping at the house area. Rally area camping is primitive and Will Be Noisy but will have toilet facilities as well.

I would like during the daylight hours on Saturday to have Fighter and Fencing type practices going on and weather permitting I will have my game boxes out for the families, we also have a playground nearby to boot.

Saturday night we would be in Mundane clothing and interact with the rally attendees, enjoying the beer, drinks, food and Music.

So come as a day trip on Saturday for the fighter practice and enjoy the company. or opt to camp the weekend, and enjoy all the Rally has to offer.

Attendance is free, no site fees, no camping or tent fees. Parking WILL be LIMITED, it is best if you get here early or you may have to park a distance away after unloading.

The following is the simplest way here and we will have basic Kite shield signs up along this designated path starting at the turn onto Berliner Straße. There are many ways to reach us it is up to you.

A) From North A3 / A7 junction Würzburg, follow A7 south towards A6, at Junction A7 / #105 Gollhofen turn onto B13 Follow to Ansbach (There is an Esso off the A7 at this turn if you need gas).

B) From South Ulm area: connect to A7 follow North to A6, Take A6 towards Ansbach. Turn at the #52 Ansbach Exit you are on B13 follow to Ansbach. Follow B13 in Ansbach the direction towards Wurzburg. DO NOT Exit Ansbach on B13 or you went too far.

C) From East “Nüremberg / Nürnberg” or West from Heilbronn, Connect to A6 follow towards Ansbach

Turn at the #52 Ansbach Exit you are on B13 follow to Ansbach. Follow B13 in Ansbach the direction towards Wurzburg. DO NOT Exit Ansbach on B13 or you went too far.

ONCE IN ANSBACH:

From B13 at traffic light turn onto Berliner Straße. (There is also an Esso near this traffic light on the main B13 in Ansbach if you need gas). Follow Berliner Straße until you come to your next Traffic Light, turn Left onto Rüglander Straße. Follow this road (Make no turns off of it), you will eventually enter one end of Rügland, then you will pass through the outer rim of the town and start heading up a small mountain (You have still made no turns off this main road you have followed from Ansbach). The road will exit Rügland and start going up, bends to the right, then near the top makes a bend to the left at this point is the right hand turn into Rügland. If you reach the top and see a large Stables / Barn to your right and a left turn to your left, you have went too far.

Once at site ring middle doorbell of house or use site phone number and we will come downstairs to meet you and give further directions.
