"Lyssie, I just got this fax from the Annapolis police department. The victim was found in the harbor outside of the Naval Academy. She was twenty and a third year student at the Academy. She left the Academy on Friday and by Sunday, she had not returned for her normal church service. Her body was discovered by Josephine Laegh, a first year student." Katie said, reading the fax in her hands.

Alyssa sipped her Chai tea and looked at the folders strewn in front of her. Three years of files on murders believed to be by Shaun. The ties have been the dumping of the bodies in water, huge holes in the wrists, and deep cuts in the foreheads. Sighing, Alyssa moved the files around.

"All of these awful murders... not a single lead as to where the murderer is going only the way of killing..." Alyssa said, exasperated, her British accent strong. "Why is this one stupid case taking us so long?"

Katie shrugged. She fingered through a few pages of notes from the police department then looked at her watch. She dropped the fax into her open briefcase and clicked the case closed.

"Well, Ill be going now. Jonny has to go out tonight, so I have to be home to take care of Rebekah."

"Ill be here for a little while longer. I have to clean up these files and determine which ones Ill be taking home for further study." Alyssa murmured, picking up random files and throwing them into her messenger bag. "Remember, this weekend Im going skiing with Heather and James in Vermont. Can you call my cell phone when you get home?"

"Will do!" Katie picked up her briefcase and smiled at Alyssa. "Bye!"

"Good-by!"

Katie walked out of the room, her long brown braided hair swaying as she moved. Alyssa looked up as she left then refocused her attention on the files. After selecting seven files, she pushed a few buttons on her phone to make it not take calls in her absence. She swung her bag over her shoulder, across her chest. As she left the room, she flipped the lights off. Her high heels tapped on the tile floor of the hallway, then silence filled the halls as she stepped into an elevator that would take her to the ground floor.
