Dr Doright’s
Medicine Bag
Little
Buddie is Missing!!!
Kasimoto and
Little Buddie always have so much fun together.
They love to wrestle and
play. They both like to pretend they are
wrestlers on TV.
Now it was fall and they helped Dr. Doright rake the
leaves into big piles.
“Vell,” said Dr. Doright, “this vork of vaking
veaves certainly is inviggerating.”
“I can veally veel the brud pumping
in and out of my brud pumping
heart!” “Me too,” said Little Buddie.
“Not me,” said Kasimoto,
“I am big strong sumo.” “This work is easy.”
When they were finished,
Dr. Doright invited everyone in for some hot
cocoa and peanut butter
cookies. Yum! Then Little Buddie asked
Kasimoto if he wanted to
go play in the leaf pile. “You bet!” said
Kasimoto, and out they went
to play.
Little Buddie and Kasimoto had so much fun wrestling in the
leaves. First Kasimoto
got little Buddie in a head lock. “Oh, oh, you
have a good head lock, Kasimoto,
but I can get free,” said Little
Buddie. “You
not get free from Kasimoto less you cry aunt.” “You
mean uncle,” said little
buddie, as he slipped from Kasimoto’s grasp
and maneuvered around to
place him in a full nelson. “Now it is you
who must cry uncle, Kasimoto.”
But just as Little Buddie said that,
Kasimoto again turned the
tables and with his enormous strength
sent Little Buddie flying
through the air. Floosh! Little buddie went
shooting down through the
leaves. Kasimoto was worried he might
have hurt his friend.
As he whispered a short prayer for Little
Buddie’s safety he cried
out, “Little Buddie, I am so sorry I flung you
so far.” “Are you OK, Little
Buddie?” Kasimoto heard no reply. He
became worried that he had
hurt his best friend. He called out again,
“Little Buddie, I am really
sorry.” “Please answer me!” Still no reply.
“Oh no! I have harmed
my best friend!” exclaimed Kasimoto as he
ran to the house to find
Dr. Doright.
“Dr. Doright!” yelled Kasimoto. “Come quick, I have killed my best
friend, Little Buddie.”
“Vhat are vou hollering about?” asked Dr.
Doright. Kasimoto
repeated himself. “Oh no!” exclaimed Dr. Doright.
“Surely vou arst mistaken.”
“Vou couldn’t have killed Little Buddie.”
“He is only plastic, like
vou!” Kasimoto explained to Dr. Doright all
about what had happened.
Dr. Doright grabbed Kasimoto, put him in
his pocket, and ran for
the leaf pile.
When they reached the leaf pile Kasimoto pointed out about
where Little Buddie had
landed. Dr. Doright frantically pawed
through the leaves looking
for his Little Buddie. Finally, when he
reached the bottom of the
pile, there was no Little Buddie to be found!
Dr. Doright sent Kasimoto
to the house to fetch his eyeglass. Then,
with his eyeglass he carefully
inspected the ground.
He was busily searching the ground when Kasimoto called out,
“Dr. Doright, look!” “Here
is a hole in the ground.” Dr. Doright looked
into the hole with his glass.
“My oh my!” “I think I can see the top of
Little Buddie’s head!” “Bring
my flashlight!” Dr. Doright shined his
flashlight deep into the
gopher hole as he peered through the
eyeglass. Sure enough,
he saw Little Buddie’s head. He called out
to Little Buddie, “Little
Buddie, Is that vou head I sees down in this
deep hole?” From deep
in the hole Dr. Doright could hear a faint cry.
It was Little Buddie.
He was thanking the Lord that he had been
found as he cried out, “It
is I Dr. Doright.” “I am fine, but I do not like
this hole.” “It is very
dark and I am afraid, but I know the Lord will save
me!” “I vill
save you.” cried Dr. Doright into the hole, “He has sent
me!” Then Dr. Doright
sent Kasimoto for some fishing line. He was
going to fish Little Buddie
out of the gopher hole.
Suddenly Little Buddie cried out, “Oh, oh, something is tickling my
little tootsies!”
“Vhat!” shouted Dr. Doright, “Vou must have hitted
youse head in your fall.”
“No, no,” “I did not hit my head.” “Something
furry is tickling my little
tootsies!” “Furry!” exclaimed Dr. Doright. “Oh
no! A gopher vants to eat
my Little Buddie! Oh no, oh no!”
But to everyone’s further surprise Little Buddie began rising up in
the hole. “Oh oh,
I am being pushed up,” cried Little Buddie. “I am
coming up on a furry elevator!”
With that, Little Buddie was pushed
completely out of the hole
by Mr. Gopher! Kasimoto was leaping for
joy. He ran up and
gave his best friend a big hug. “I loves you Little
Buddie. You is my
best friend. I thought you were a goner!” Little
Buddie shed tears of joy
and told Kasimoto and Dr. Doright how he
had prayed to the Lord to
save him from the deep dark hole. Dr.
Doright exclaimed, as he
often does when he is overjoyed, “Lets go
fishing!”
