| The first books needed are to the left. You really don't have to get Gehenna right off, but I did and it helped a little in formulating where the characters were ultimately heading. You're not going to find everything from the books on these webpages. I'm touching on a very vast subject so just the major points are going to be covered. The creators of this game published awesome books, so if you want more detail: GO BUY THE BOOKS. Now, lets talk a little about the clans you'll be choosing from: The Camarilla: The largest sect of undead that came about in an attempt to hold the vampiric society together in the 15 century. They could be called the "good guys" but like in any social club there are some bad seeds. The main concern of the Camarilla is to enforce and maintain the masquerade at all costs. Brujah: Prone to frenzy, they live for zealous causes and are seen by the other clans as punks and rebels. They are sometimes called the "Anarachs" and make up a large portion of the physical strength for the Camarilla. "Think for yourself, or you're better off dead. Either way, I'm satisfied." Gangrel: Preferring the comfort of the wilderness, these nomadic vampires are closest to their inner nature. They are shapeshifters and like the Brujah can be fierce warriors, but it stems from their animalistic instinct, not anarchal rage. "You provided worthy sport, mortal. Now, thought, the chase is ended." Malkavian: This is the only clan that most other clans fear, and for good reason! Every member of the clan is incurably insane. Their psychoses can bring a wide range of chaos with them to any city as it seems to nip at their very heels wherever they go. Still, they know things that no other clan does. "Laugh if you like. Doesn't matter. Assume that you're so much smarter than the poor, broken lunatic. Doesn't matter. But think about this: You're a dead thing, same as me. You died and were reborn....as this. What makes you and me different? Simple--I remember what I saw when I was full and truly dead. You'd be mad, too." Nosferatu: These vampires are twisted and deformed by their vampiric curse. They must live in sewers or underground as both mortals and Cainites alike have ostracized them from society. However, this has made them excellent survivors. "Come here, little boy, howsabout a kiss? [phlegmy, wheezing hack] Whazza matter? Big bad gangbanger's scared now? Don't so much like being a victim, heh? Toreador: Whatever a Toreador does, he/she does will passion. Being decadent lovers of art and beautiful things, these vampires are the ones that are closest connected to mortal society. Surrounding themselves with the most elegant and luxurious things the world offers, they are also the most likely to fall in love with mortals. "Oh yes, isn't she exquisite? She's my newest find--I'm her muse, the sweet little creature. Imagine! And what of--oh, Thomas? Why I could hardly say--after all, he had his "15 minutes" as they say, it all became very tedious, so I had to say adieu. Suicide? Really?! Silly boy!" Tremere: These are the warlocks. They secured their vampiric powers through sorcery and a Tzimisce elder. They are feared for their power and known for their tight society and blood bonds. They live in well defended house strongholds called chantries. "We are more than vampires. We are the next step in Cainite evolution. We will direct the others if they allow us to do so, or we will stand alone if we must. But we will survive." Ventrue: This clan serves as the leaders of the Camarilla and has a reputation for being honorable and genteel. They are politicians, old money families, corporate climbers, and nobles. They are driven to preserve the stability of order in vampiric society and to uphold the masquerade. "The guidance of the Damned is my burden to bear, not yours. You would do well, however, to ask yourself whether your unlife is one of benefit to the Children of Caine, or a detriment. I have already made my judgement." The Sabbat: Truly a monsterous sect that sees humans as nothing more than bovine masses. With no concern for the masquerade, these vampire clans revel in their darkness. Lasombra: As the heart of the Sabbat, these graceful vampires see murder, frenzy, predation as a way of life. Why fear these things if you are meant to be a vampire? They turn their backs on who they once were and give themselves freely to the darkness as it consumes them. "Shadows? Hah! I wield Darkness itself, not mere shadows. Tell me---could a shadow do this?" Tzimisce: Known as the soul of the Sabbat, these strange vampires mutilate and mold their flesh in ways that can be either horrifying or exquisitely beautiful. Elders of this clan often fail to recognize suffering or mercy, or simply they can no longer comprehend it. "Welcome; a thousand welcomes! I am honored that we could put aside the Jyad's foolish rivalries for a night, that you might come under my eaves in the spirit of -- eh? You start? Ahh -- that noise! A trifle! Nothing that need concern you, sweet guest!" The Independents: These clans prefer not to take sides in the ongoing Jyhad and are content to try and shape the future to their own whims. Younger members of these clans sometimes choose to side with the Camarilla or Sabbat. Assamite: Followers of Set: Giovanni: Ravnos: |
