1935 Born in Dortmund, Germany, son of Luisa & Dr Walter Hornung
1955-61 Studied mathematics and physics, University of Munster, Germany.
1964 Finished thesis on fundamentals of Symbolic Logic.
1960-67 Research assistant at Max-Planck Institute of Physiology of Labor. Performed experimental investigations into the pupillary reflex of the human eye as a typical example of a biological regulatory system.
1968-70 Research assistant at the Department of Medical Statistics, Free University of Berlin, Germany.
1969 Inaugural dissertation on fundamentals of Probability
Theory.
1970-89 Professor of Medical Statistics and Documentation.
1989-97 Professor at the Department of Naturopathy at the same University. Researched methodology of controlled clinical trials in
unorthodox medicine, especially in unconventional cancer therapy, mistletoe therapy, homeopathy, Psycho-Oncology.
Editor of the "Berlin Journal on Research in Homeopathy".
Wrote critical papers on the principles of controlled clinical
trials.
1995/96 Conceptualization of a patient information system, which was later realized by Bernhard Harrer, who in this context founded www.datadiwan.de and where the results of Professor Hornung's professional work can be found.
1997 Retirement;
2005 Currently lives on the Canary Island of Lanzarote and has established his website about the scientific research on reincarnation, near death experiences, spirit possession, including a very critical text on organ transplant, taking into consideration spiritual aspects and a text on the Living Will.
