"Influence"
By-Ian Masters and Travis Ralston
Everywhere happiness, on public display
Everyone secure, and dead-set in their ways
Society's robots, wind up toys of god
Supposed leaders of the human race, all birthed from one poisoned seedpod
People all, expected to swallow
They're left here with nothing, but lies they must follow
Join them, and go on conveniently blind
Refuse and you are forgotten and left behind
Those minor few, who manage to surpass the chosen leaders
Gifted and cursed, open to the realm of truth
Prisoners of our inferior race
Swallow our own medicine but enjoy the taste
We live amongst you, parasites to your system
We murder your morals with creativity and wisdom
Drawn from pools of misery, terror, and desire for change
Influenced by all events around, developed by twisted forms of pain
We starve and work, you shop and play
Accustomed to this neglect, just another thing in the way
Laugh away, say what you must
You wouldn't be here if it weren't for us
You will never see the way things really are
You're too busy with the fantasy to notice the scars
Our ideals affect your thoughts, rape your wisdom
Your insubordinate ideology fuels our art
I never asked for any of this
Society's a whore and this is her gift
Your social hierarchies label us all
There is no hope for those who fall
Desire for acceptance, a long line outside the door
Us, here, a choice group of life, never a knock
Learn from us as we spit on you, wipe you off like the dirt on our soul
We live different, but we bleed the same
We cannot follow the rules to your heartless game
In our way, differences are seen as a sign of intelligence
To you and your system, this has no relevance
Machines to no cause, headed for a breakdown
Your time of power is dwindling, the zombies are awake now
Do not think of coming crawling back
We will not forgive, we will attack
I would like to think this was all in my mind
But everyday I awake to find
I am forgotten, I am left behind
Only to realize that I was never next in line
