Net Name: Queen Crumpet
Real Name: Izzie ‘lazerbrains’
Email address: [email protected]
From: UK (some remote village kinda near Liverpool (ya know, The Beatles?))
Occupation: Student on study leave
Age: 16
Height: 5’7”
Hair (color and length): dark blonde, umm…shoulder?
Eyes: dark brown, deep and mysterious. Nah, just dark brown.
Marital Status: Happily single (like I’d be married at 16?)
Fav Books (other than SW): Aack! Erm…‘Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy’ and that lot by Douglas Adams, anything by Carrie Fisher, K.K.Rusch, Gerald Durrell, Steve Perry, ‘The Beach’ Alex Garland, anything SF/F. To Kill a Mockingbird.
Fav movies (other than SW): Shakespeare in Love, Contact, Anna and the King, Mulan (sorry, I’m a lost cause when it comes to Disney, esp. The Lion King. <sob> gets me every time.) ‘Postcards from the Edge’ from Carrie Fisher’s novel was really funny, Austin Powers, The Matrix.
Fav TV shows: Now this IS a hard one. TV in the UK is notoriously crap, to put it mildly so…X-files (we’re only on Season 6! Years behind the US), 3rd Rock, Have I got News for You, Due South. Don’t watch much so that’s it.
Fav kinds of music: Anything, bar really hard core and punk. The SW soundtrack is good when it’s raining, which it frequently is.
When did you first become a SW fan?: My friend David, my brother and I used to watch ESB and RotJ all the time when we were tots and act out the ‘Ewok on the speeder-bike’ scene and that must’ve been, what, 85/86. But I never really got the storyline (with being 3 ‘n all) so it was only when the Special editions came out that I really got hooked. I’d like to think it was my ‘destiny’ to become a fan as I was born just about the same time as RotJ came out, but…well.
First time to see ANH: 1997
First time to see ESB: 1985
First time to see ROTJ: 1985
Total No. of times to see all the films: Lost count. Too many, way too many.
Fav SW movie:
Hard to say; their all great in their different ways. ANH is a classic,
ESB gets you with all the possible emotions and Han and Leia’s verbal jousting…well,
what can I say. RotJ has a nice bittersweet ending and wraps up almost
everything, leaving just enough for the imagination to pick up and carry
on.
I think it’ll have
to be ESB cos it’s darker than RotJ and more mature than ANH.
Fav SW book: Shadows of the Empire, The New Rebellion and for lots of angst, the Black Fleet Crisis trilogy. (I need to buy Truce at Bakura)
Other hobbies and obsessions: Travelling. I wanna see the world. I’ve recently come back from The Gambia on the west coast of Africa, where as a group I am helping to fund an education center for the poorest kids. Apart from that I’ve been to India, Hong Kong, Indiana, Florida, all over Europe and Australia (now that’s one hell of a flight). All I need now is South America! I’d love to travel the US and also Thailand, but I live for Australia. Reading Fanfic, sport.
Anything else you want to add: Cos of where I live and the subsequent price tag for any oversees mail, I don’t go for the various fanzines. However I did send off for Sue Zahn’s YCUAGK and it is incredible! Just need to save up for Kiss 2. I would like to thank Mel and Nick Poynton from Melbourne, Aust. for introducing me to the wonderful world of Bantam Star Wars Novels. And, of course, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill. Leigh Brackett, Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas
Can we put this on the web page?: Ooh, go on then!
