A short story about Han and Leia's romance, and how the Force can affect even the simplest aspects of every day life. No money is being made off of this story, and the characters are not mine. They belong to George Lucas, and various other authors. Hope you enjoy it. It was a quiet evening in the Solo household. Han Solo was sitting at his desk in the parlor, looking over some of the printouts on the Falcon, and waiting for his wife to come home from the office. The three Solo children were long asleep in their beds at the other end of the house, and every so often Han could hear a mumbled phrase or a quiet snore coming from the direction of the childrens' bedroom. He smiled to himself as he heard Jaina mumble in her sleep, " Stop it Jacen, or I'm going to tell Dad..." He listened very carefully, for sometimes Jacen would answer her back in his sleep. He didn't exactly know how they did it, but he had long ago learned that anything abnormal in the way his children grew up was probably directly linked to the Force, and it was best to let his wife and brother-in-law deal with it. He heard a key being placed in the lock of the front door, and heard the door scrape against the floor as Leia entered the house. She closed the door behind her, and placed her coat on the rack by the door, calling softly, "Han?" He got up and was about to reply when he got the notion to do something else. He turned out the lamp on the desk, and hid behind the parlor door. He heard Leia walk through the hallway, and call a little louder, "Han? Where are you?" He heard her footsteps walking through various parts of the house and heard her calling his name, peeking into each room in the house., Her voice was getting frantic, as she rushed to the childrens' bedroom to check on them, and make sure they hadn't disappeared too. She began to sound very urgent, as she burst into the parlor, shoving the door up against Han's face and causing him to grunt soflty under his breath. She went to his desk, and looked at the printouts he had been reading, searching for a note, or some other explanation as to where her husband had gone. When she realized that there was none, she stood up, put her hand up to her face, and whispered, "Force help me..." At that moment, Han stepped out of his hiding place, and lunged for Leia. She shrieked as she was knocked to the ground by this maniac, who then had the audacity to plant a kiss firmly on her lips. She looked at the creature who had just attacked her, about to fight back, when she realized she was staring at her husband, who was looking sheepishly back at her. "Han!" she cried, once she had regained her composure. She got up and knelt in front of him, still spralled out on the parlor rug. "What in the force...?" He smiled at her, and said smugly, "Fooled you!" She looked at him for a moment, then burst out laughing. She tried to make herself look scolding as she said, "You scared me! Don't ever do that again!" But she couldn't keep the smile off her face, as Han took her arm, and began planting kisses up her wrist to her forearm. "You scruffy nerf-herder, can't you see I'm angry, " she tried vainly to say to him, already knowing full well that he had been forgiven. He looked up at her for a moment silently, then reached up and kissed her again, pulling her down back onto the floor with him, and began to tickle her. She squirmed and writhed in his arms laughing and trying to get free, while not REALLY trying to get free. She eventually fell back against his chest, exhausted. Han pulled both of them onto the couch nearby, and placed Leia squarely in his lap. "Still angry?" he said to her, as he placed the tip of his nose to hers and looked in her eyes. "No" she said quietly as she rubbed her own nose back and forth against his gently and stroked the hair on the back of his neck. "Cause I knew where you were hiding all along." Han pulled away from her slightly, and looked at her incredulously. "What?" was all he managed to get out, as he stared at her in amazement. Then he remembered the Force, and suddenly he couldn't believe that his trick on her had actually been Leia fooling him all along. He laughed out loud then, and pulled Leia back into his arms, embracing her in a warm hug. He wondered to himself, How did I ever get this lucky? Leia looked up at him and said lovingly, "I have no idea."
