Net Name: Dia or Dianora

Real Name: Jen

Email address: [email protected]

Web Page address(?): http://members.aol.com/dianora2/main.htm

From: NYC

Occupation: Editorial Assistant at the SF/F imprint of a major publisher

Age: I'll be 25 next week. Ack.

Height: 5'2" and proud

Hair (color and length): light brown, and short. Gotta be short. Love short.

Eyes: hazel

Marital Status: Single. Just broke it off with someone I was casually seeing because he stood me up for a lunch date and didn't call to apologize until almost a week later. Whatever with that!

Fav Books (other than SW): God, this is a toughie. "The Mists of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer Bradley, "Tigana" by Guy Gavriel Kay, anything by Barbara Hambly, Anne Rice, Diana Paxson, the Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, anything by Tom Robbins, Lois McMaster Bujold, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Gael Baudino, Carrie Fisher, Margaret Atwood, the Robotech novels, and way too much other stuff too.

Fav movies (other than SW): I am a sucker for animated Disney films. There, I've admitted it! ::deep breath:: Um, what else: Much Ado About Nothing, Sense and Sensibility, Gone With the Wind, Romancing the Stone, The Fugitive, Monty Python's Holy Grail, When Harry Met Sally, Raiders of the Lost Ark, I'm blanking. I'm not a huge movie person, I'm more of a TV person. Films I enjoyed this summer were Air Force One (duh! <g>), Men in Black, Contact, and Conspiracy Theory.

Fav TV shows: THE X-FILES, Seinfeld, Frasier, The Pretender, King of the Hill, South Park, Talk Soup, Sliders, Lois & Clark, 3rd Rock from the Sun. I was a big fan of Northern Exposure, Twin Peaks, Moonlighting, Anything But Love, Savannah, and The Kids in the Hall. I am a self-admitted Food Network fanatic and E! junkie. And I've been watching General Hospital for 17years. It's not a TV show, it's a lifestyle. <g>

Fav kinds of music: I'm all over the place, as long as it's not country or easy listening. Mostly alternative, I guess, with rock and r&b to taste. Big groups for me are Indigo Girls, Cranberries, Garbage, Pearl Jam, No Doubt, En Vogue, Queen Latifah, Alanis Morrissette, the B-52s. And I love those Disney soundtracks, agh! :D

When did you first become a SW fan?: As soon as I saw it in 1977.

First time to see ANH: 1977

First time to see ESB: 1980

First time to see ROTJ: 1983

Total No. of times to see all the films: god only knows. But ESB much more than any of the others. Although it's usually my version: fast forward through all the Dagobah stuff, and turn it off after Han gets frozen. <g>

Fav SW movie: ESB. Hands down. Pure drama, my friends, with the best writing. Han and Leia's banter alone sets it above the others, IMHO.

Fav SW book: Planet of Twilight, which actually made me cry. For me it was not just a wonderful SW book but a wonderful book, period. And Sue's mention of it made me remember how much I *loved* the ESB novelization. The cover literally disintegrated, I read it so many times.

Other hobbies and obsessions: The X-Files, Robotech, reading, science fiction and fantasy, writing, ancient religion, Celtic lore, goddess worship, paganism, Disney animated films, Japanese animation, X-Men, comic books, medieval history, Greek mythology, the "V" miniseries. The X-Files and Robotech definitely qualify as obsessions.

Anything else you want to add: Just also wanted to mention, as Sue did, that I loved the old Marvel SW comics. I even loved the stuff they did after ROTJ. One thing that drives me nuts is that it sometimes seems that fans forget that the movies were *funny*, and they get upset when someone writes something funny about the characters...oh well. You get my point.
