It's a conmen's world after all - 28 January 2003
Whenever the word "conmen" came across my mind , I got a strong feeling of hatred
and anger . I hate conmen very much . They are the worst enemy of mine . It felt much
worse especially when a girl lied to my feelings . They hurt my feelings and treated me
like a fool .
I felt very frustrated this evening when two conmen merely ruined the shopping fun of mine and
JiNIX . Since exam is over , I thought of taking a real break going to Sungei Wang for a real
geek shopping .. well , actually .. we just go and get some truly cheap pirated CDs . Even
foreigners love those stuff . We have most of the fun there .. I mean , that's the only place
where geeks like us can check out the most of the latest computer peripherals . Today was
kind of free flowing . Since it's Tuesday , everyone's been at school . Still , we can still
see some students loittered that place with their uniforms .
KL is KL . It was 5.00 pm and we thought of leaving KL after a 4-hour walk . JiNIX complained
that his leg hurts . I was fatigued and it's time to go home for a long rest . Things go very wrong
when we left Low Yat . Just as we reached the stairs , a stranger approached JiNIX and started
asking him questions . First , I thought that he was asking for direction , but , he got very
close to him and interrupted every single word JiNIX wanted to express . By now , I can sense
that he's suspicious . I persuaded JiNIX to ignore him .. and he felt strange . I kept persuading
him ... until another guy approached me and started to talk to me in an anger tone . RED ALERT ! .
My quick judgement sense told me to get the hell out of this place as soon as possible . I pulled
JiNIX's bag and we ran away as far as possible . They didn't pursue us and I believe that maybe they
won't try something naughty , cause , it's an open space after all .
This is not the first time I came across with this situation . The Masjid Jamek-incident taught me a big
lesson . I always told myself to evade these kind of people whenever appropriate . If situation is getting
critical , I have no choice but to assess threat . Strange but true , things that I can't do at normal times ,
is possible during crisis .
Neways , I received the latest project of my life , that is : to develop a payment system
for Johan Academy . Mr Ong told me to develop this system since the conventional way is very very
inefficient . So far , it's still in the System Analysis phase . I just take a break for this CNY ,
then , I will start to design the system to be evaluated . Seriously , this is the first system I would
develop in my whole life .
Chinese New Year is coming soon . So far so good , everything is going very fine and all the goods
had already been purchased . It's rush hour for the next two days . Banks , supermarkets were full-house .
Everyone's doing last-minute preparations and the kids can't wait any more longer .
