The "8" factor - 18 September 2003
Today I stayed at home most of the time , since Simon was kind of busy today ,
and he had something to do at Sungei Wang , so it's better not to disturb him.
Nothing happened much today , and I did some little research on array sorting techniques
with C .
I've made some discoveries today , on how chemistry can be related to computer networking protocols .
Remember the times when we can convert the number of electrons of a particular atom into
a notation called the electron configuration ? You know , those 2.8.8.3 thingy ? Those octet stuffs reminded
me of the IP address itself . Because essentially , the IPv4 , or Internet Protocol version 4 , the protocol that
governs the way our IP address system worked , is actually a 32-bit binary address . Coincidentally , it is divided
into 4 8-bit addresses seperated by the dot notation . Weird , but true .
