The four days at Yap's : Part 1 - 18 February 2003

Ahh .. It was a wonderful Tuesday . I wanted to go on with a new life . Today I planned to have a haircut and throw away my ego . It was 3:30 pm . I went straight away to the barber shop when I was kind of satisfied with my newly learned skill : Playing the advanced mode in Daytona USA . It was halfway my hair were cut when I received a call . My handphone was very low on battery . I just ignored it . After I was finished with the haircut , I checked out who called me just now . It was Yap Chee Wooi . It's been a week since I didn't met him . The last time was when I accompanied him to TARC to take the A-Levels form . That day I met Mon Fong too . She changed a lot . She was not like her the last time I met her at Yap's party . Maybe her haircut changed her appearance .

When I switched on my handphone , I was in deep trouble . All the numbers were gone . Even the credits were missing . I cried in vain . Then I quickly proceed to a nearest telephone booth and called him . He told me that his PC misbehave again ! His Windows ME started to gone berserk . Chris' right . Windows ME indeed has some problems !!! Everytime he launches a program even Windows Media Player , his PC crashed . So , he asked me to go over his house and format his PC . Looked like I'm not the only one who wanted to go on a new life . He did too .

In a flash , I reached home and quickly , I bathed and started to make up a plan on how to fix his PC . After that , I packed myself up with OSes and softwares . Had a 15-minute walk to his house . I reached his house at exactly 5:00 pm . He told me to wait for a while as he was backing up his files . Guess what ? His files already sized at 11 gigs .

5:30 pm . He finished backing-up the files and I'm ready to put his darling to "sleep" for good. I boot up his PC with Win 98 boot disk and format his C: drive . It was kind of palm sweating as I have to format his PC with care and make sure that I didn't meddled with his files.. . Every second passed , I was getting more and more nervous and wondered if I formatted the correct drive . When formatting was over , I quickly typed D: and dir/w/a on the command line to make sure that everything was okay . Thank Goddess the files was still there .

It was almost 6:00 pm . I installed Windows 98 SE on his PC as I'm not sure my Win XP CD was working or not . I remembered how that Win XP caused my PC to go into a restart loop . Hopefully , his PC won't go into a restart loop like my PC did ! Installation process was completed 25 minutes later . Now , it's driver time ! I was kind of surprised when he told me that he threw his sound card driver away during spring cleaning at his house . I tried to do my best to install as many drivers as they available . Then , I install Win XP on his PC using upgrade method . It was late already , and he suggested that he would buy a new soundcard to replace the existing one . So , we went out to Paragon Point to buy a soundcard . Before that , he borrowed me FFX VCD and Cardcaptor Sakura's VCD . The time we reached Paragon was about 8.00 pm . I told him that it was late and I'll continue fixing up his PC the next day at 9.00 am .

Mom called not long after that . I reached home at 8 something and I quickly had my dinner and can't wait to watch those VCDs . I played FFIX until 12 am and went to sleep . I didn't watch CFH that night because they were showing a repeated show . It's the third time they broadcasted that episode .
