Chinese New Year Disaster!

Chinese New Year this year is truly different. It ate my computer. My whole pc was rendered completely inoperable as the clock ticks close to CNY. The disaster happened somewhere around 1 p.m. the day before CNY. I was meddling with my pc without doing much, and then thought that i might wanna "resize" my windows partition by taking some space from the Mandrake's partition using PartitionMagic. The software took over the resizing job and once it was finished, the system halted half way through the boot-up. Obviously, LILO didn't boot correctly. Windows was completely shielded by LILO, so i thought it would be wise to reinstall Mandrake, with hope that a fresh LILO would be rewritten on the MBR. WRONG. I was completely wrong. Apparently, the resizing totally fucked up MDK's ext2fs. Great. Then, i said my goodbye to XP and all my data and apps. (i nearly cried, but sweated profusely instead). I dug out the recovery CD that accompanied my laptop and had to reinstall XP from scratch. And now, i'm left with an empty machine, with nothing. I'm now working to reinstalling all my apps...sobs sobs!
